Here's the thing: Churchill was a huge fuck up, screw ball and all round villain who was wrong about just about everything: wrong about World War I, wrong about Gallipoli (a major disaster of his making), wrong about Ireland, wrong about India, wrong about the gold standard, wrong about the General Strike, wrong about Mussolini, wrong about Franco, wrong about the abdication. But the one time in his miserable life of wrongness where he got something right was the period from 1939-1945 when he knew Hitler was the paramount danger and everything else (anticommunism, keeping the Empire) was secondary. And yet it's this brief window of not being wrong that makes him a target for the American and British right.




It's nice to have a manager who empathizes with the travails of on call, interruptions, and tech debt, and who can guide you towards opportunities you might not have spotted on your own. Trust is nice, but expert trust is better than blind trust, every day. 💕
