@MacticsG1 I’m not a competitive guy but the Pit leaderboard on Diablo 4 has me no hardcore farming the game to get a good rank and try and get that top spot. Something like this for Destiny would’ve got me doing the same I’d imagine

If destiny strikes had something like world of warcrafts mythic+ system with ratings and a leaderboard and exclusive cosmetics depending on how high you push you would not be able to pry me off the game no matter how hard you tried

@Gothalion Truth man, going D1 to D2 was exciting because we could pick up where we left off in gameplay terms, not having a D3 coming to have that continuity is gonna suck for a lot of people.

Mourning the upcoming loss of your personal third space is tough. It IS traumatic. I’ve shared my thoughts on the transition from D1 to D2 and how that impact felt. Time takes time yall. You’ll frankly never “replace” the vibe you felt. You’ll just fill that space with something different

Legitimately the worst part of this update is if they’d dropped it a year ago, or even with renegades, that probably would have saved the game. Legitimately fucking infuriating that the best update we’ve seen for D2 since ITL is also its funeral.

@ssidezz D2 Year 1 (specifically warmind) was my favourite sandbox, equal playing field for everyone with static rolls and there were enough weapons that games didn’t feel overly samey. Also the time I saw the most improvement as a player

cammycakes once said something prophetic to me in season 1 of destiny 2, verbatim: "this is the only time we will get to play this version of the game, so i'm going to play until it's gone" now nearly a decade later, again, thinking of a sentiment that stuck with me permanently.

Overall view: - Destiny 2 probably should have ended with Final Shape with Destiny 3 already incubating - If Destiny 2 was going to keep existing, it shouldn't have been what we got, which was badly handled - Marathon siphoned a ton of resources and there is no disputing that

Full steam on D3 at the "request" of Sony feels very likely here. IMO this shift was a needed and good thing. Looking like the final LIVE update For Destiny 2 in June will be hefty as it sounds to include intended future stuff.
