Same thing stopped me from buying a generator for emergencies. I learned the gas running a generator to keep electricity for your refrigerator has to be refilled every 6 hours. And if the electricity is down-- so are all the gas stations. And I'm not keeping 20 gallons of gas bombs on my property "just in case".

Something that broke post-apocalyptic stories for me was learning that gas would basically be unusable after a year
