The latest Isiolo North survey highlights overwhelming confidence in Mwenda Thuranira’s leadership, with 61.3% of residents expressing support. This level of trust reflects the strong bond he has built with the people through consistent engagement, responsiveness, and a clear vision for inclusive development. The data tells the story of a leader who is not only popular, but one who embodies the hopes of Isiolo North for a brighter future.

I don’t know which side of the impeachment you’re on, but I’ve got to give it up to the Isiolo Speaker (@Mrobkoto)... this guy has b*lls. Standing firm on this impeachment against the same man who orchestrated Mike Sonko’s impeachment takes serious courage ngl.

Issuance of 1,191 Allotment Letters to Isiolo Central Sub-County Residents In a landmark initiative undertaken in collaboration with the @NLC_Kenya, I had the honour of officially issuing 1,191 allotment letters to residents of Kulamawe, Kiwanjani, Kambi Bule, Tuluroba, and Kambi Garba in Isiolo Central Sub-County. The event, held at Bula Mpya Primary School, marks a historic milestone in our ongoing efforts to regularize land ownership and secure tenure for families who, for generations, have lived without legal documentation for the land they call home. This exercise is a critical step toward affirming land rights, fostering a sense of belonging, and unlocking the economic potential of our people. By providing legal certainty, these allotment letters empower residents to invest in and develop their properties with confidence. In my remarks, I emphasized the importance of unity among all elected leaders in Isiolo. I urged them to rise above political differences and work collaboratively in the spirit of shared purpose to advance meaningful development and deliver quality services to our people. I also encouraged residents to continue supporting the national government to ensure Isiolo remains a priority in key development programs and infrastructure projects. The ceremony was graced by County Commissioner Geoffrey Omonding, Deputy Governor James Lowasa, NLC Vice Chairperson Getrude Nguku, Commissioner Tiya Galgalo, and CEC for Lands Yussuf Dahir. We were also joined by Members of the County Assembly, including Hon. Waithaka (Bulapesa), Hon. Meja (Chari), Hon. Abubakar Godana (Sericho), and Hon. Salesio Kiambi (Wabera), among other distinguished guests. #IsioloRisingKE

Statement on the Power Situation in Mandera Town. Dear Esteemed Residents, The ongoing power outages in Mandera Town have reached a critical level. The extreme heat wave, especially during this month of Ramadan, has made the situation even more unbearable. As your Governor, I have actively engaged the relevant stakeholders in various forums, visited the relevant ministry, and held discussions with the company responsible for power supply in Mandera town. While generator breakdowns are inevitable, Kenya Power (KPLC) should have implemented adequate contingency measures to handle such failures. Given Mandera’s distance from Nairobi and the condition of our roads, proper planning should have been prioritised. Unfortunately, KPLC has failed the people of Mandera, and this is unacceptable. Current Status: 1.Kenya Power operates five generators at the Mandera station with a total capacity of 3.1 MW. However, three are non-functional, and Car and General have been contracted to repair them. The two operational generators currently supply only 900 KW instead of the expected 1.3 MW. 2.KPLC contracted a supplier to provide two additional generators to bridge the gap, with a combined expected output of 1.5 MW. However, one generator is not functioning, and the other supplies only 700 KW to the feeder line. 3.Mandera Town requires 4.5 MW, yet only 1.6 MW is available. Some customers experience power outages lasting up to 48 hours. This situation is dire, and we demand that KPLC take immediate action to resolve it. It is unacceptable for our people to endure such hardship, including queuing for ice cubes outside Belad Hawa. Despite repeated engagements with KPLC, their responses remain nothing more than empty promises. We will not relent in pushing for a lasting solution to this crisis.
