I CANNOT stress enough the need for indigenous (for the lack of a better word) Nigerian publishing houses to acquire books by Nigerians in the country & not just republish big names from abroad. It's the only way we can bring our diverse stories to life because—

Added to it, most of the publishers here aren't doing anything for writers here. They are glorified printing presses. They mostly do versions of works by Nigerians or Africans that are popping abroad, famous, etc. They don't discover or grow nothing.

For instance, If Meat is 10k, don’t say ‘abeg sell am 8k, 🙃 boldly say its 2500 you have & bargain from that point. Also Don’t casually ask them to cut 3k meat for you! They will cheat you Point to a big chunk & price down to the amount you want If its more, like 6k for instance, no wahala, tell them to cut into half… to get your amount
