Vincent Kompany on why Nicolas Jackson was only subbed on in stoppage time: "I lost a substitution moment with Stani's injury. And I had planned for Leon to come on at some point to bring that energy back. Those were the two priorities. That's why it simply wasn't possible [to sub Jackson] earlier. We needed to keep the last substitution moment in case something else had happened. But Nico was also happy for the team."
Luis Díaz becomes the fourth new signing at Bayern to get a goal in each of his first three Bundesliga appearances, after Ruggiero Rizzitelli (1996), Luca Toni (2007) and Mario Mandžukić (2012)
Jackson on the difference between the Premier League and the Bundesliga: "I don't know the difference yet because I haven't played here yet. Hopefully tomorrow I'll know the difference. I've played in Spain and England, and maybe here for the first time tomorrow."
Jackson on his favourite position: "I'm obviously a number 9, but can also play as a second striker. I just want to help the team and play for the coach and the club"
Luis Díaz: "It's definitely always special to play for a big club, and Bayern is one of the big clubs. They gave me an incredible welcome and treated me well. That's very important to integrate quickly, and they did that really well. I'm very happy. I joined the right team, the right group. I'll continue to work hard with both feet on the ground and focus on what's to come. This was just the beginning"
Luis Díaz on his earliest memory of Bayern: "I've always watched a lot of football. When I'm at home, I pretty much watch everything. My first memories of FC Bayern were Robben and Ribéry. And then there was a player named 'Schweinsteiger,' or something like that, right? I remember the 2013 Champions League final, which Bayern won against Dortmund, very well. That left a lasting impression on me." [Säbener 51]
