We, the TIMEP family, are absolutely devastated by the news that the brilliantly talented and deeply empathetic Sudanese advocate Hamid Khalafallah has passed away. It was the greatest honor and privilege to host Hamid as a 2022-2023 nonresident fellow.

Again and again, it is clear that the war in Sudan is a relentless assault on civilians. At least 500 people have been killed in drone strikes by SAF & the RSF since the start of 2026. The latest SAF hit on a hospital in E. Darfur reportedly killed 64 people - 13 children.

SAF aerial bombardment on first day of Eid on Ed-Dain city, East Darfur kills 64 civilians among them women and children, 1 doctor, 2 nurses, with tens more wounded, according to a local government medical official. Attack completely destroyed Emergency Hospital including all its medical equipment. Teaching hospital which served large surrounding communities now out of service. Bombing hospitals is a war crime under international law. Unequivocally, unconditionally. No exceptions. No matter who does it, no matter whose side one is on. No allegiance changes this. #Sudan

Both the RSF and SAF spreading their war into Chad 🇹🇩 will spell absolute disaster for the people of Sudan 🇸🇩. So far the Chadian government has been willing to allow refugees to enter and for humanitarian aid to cross back, if that ends it will be a catastrophe for millions.

Not impressed by the increasing number of uncritically pro-SAF/army accounts on social media platforms "raising awareness about Sudan". Especially northern Sudanese diaspora positioning themselves as "representing Sudan" while erasing role of SAF in the rise of the RSF.

The Government of Sudan must immediately acknowledge its violations, cease any further use of chemical weapons, and fully cooperate with the @OPCW to address these violations. Watch the United States' intervention:
