Elated @govkathyhochul signed this bill into law today. The SAFE for Kids Act aims to break the cycle of addiction perpetuated by social media algorithms, protecting our children from the harmful effects of excessive screen time.

These bills, ensure our children are not falling victim to the algorithm or having their data and information sold.

Social Media companies should NOT have free access to trade and sell our information and ESPECIALLY should not have the ability to do so to our children. That is why I am incredibly proud to have co-sponsored the SAFE Act and The New York Child Data Protection Act.

Protecting our Children is the most important thing. Growing up with technology is a blessing for the access to knowledge it offers, but it comes at a great risk to our most vulnerable constituents.
