To be or not to be !
Around 5 percent or even less of the world’s 6 billion internet users are currently involved in web3 in some form.
The biggest bottleneck is not technology itself, although it is still needed indeed, but user experience and onboarding friction.
Math is simple, without completing the transition to web3, no crypto initiative can achieve sustainable success in the short term. real scale and lasting success require web3 onboarding and user experience to be in place.
Onboarding should focus on letting users experience web3 without realizing it. Wallets, gas, and technical complexity must be handled in the background so users can enjoy a seamless web2-level experience.
The advantages of web3 should be experienced, not explained. Concepts like ownership, reward for contribution, and permissionless interaction must be embedded into the experience so that real transformation happens naturally.
To achieve this, we need builders creating web2 level applications powered by web3, strong blockchain infrastructures that can support entire ecosystems, excellent user experience design, and effective distribution strategies.
DeFi is necessary for tokenization and financial operations, and it can even be vital at an institutional level but it is not enough to onboard millions on its own.
People spend very little time on banking and finance in web2, yet those systems are still essential!
The real growth will come from areas where people already spend their time: social, gaming, content, art, sports, creation, and community driven platforms.
Web3 must be embedded invisibly into these experiences, letting users feel its advantages naturally.
In short, a true web3 world will only emerge through "living" , user driven environments built for people by people, where value creation can be owned and experienced at scale, competing directly with web2.
