As you take your child to get ice cream and shop for children’s day clothes, a 3yr old child is currently tied up in the bush by barbaric animals who the Nigerian govt refers to as “brothers”. As I type this, 46 children are in a terrorist den. The nigerian govt cuddles terrorists and pampers these animals who behead teachers and brutalise children. Today is children’s day, but 46 innocent children learning in their classrooms in Ogbomosho, Oyo state were kidnapped by gunmen. It’s been two painful weeks already and these children are still not home with their families, suffering out there in the cold and enduring fear and uncertainty that no child should ever know. This is a National crisis and the government must use every resource necessary to bring these children home. Nothing else matters in this moment. We owe our children a safer country.

Yesterday was my birthday being children’s day, but deep down, I wasn’t really feeling it. Behind the smiles and celebrations, I spent most moments crying and mourning silently. I didn’t truly enjoy my birthday the way everyone thought I did💔🥺.
