curious what people think about rain - could be me just being bad but I find it really hard to play...feels poorly positioned (unfavorable into sun) and absolute power level has taken a hit with the archuladon nerfs

worth noting that even bottom ladder showdown is probably more competitive than the majority of the champions playerbase...so think competitive players have to adjust expectations

my two cents: I can see why competitive VGC players dislike the game because the mechanics got dumbed down a lot playing ranked though made me remember that the fanbase is HUGE and quality of life / lowering barrier to entry is the right move

@PengyTwitch @2x3dropworlds I’ll agree to disagree here haha To me, this is a little bit like trying to predict rock paper scissors based on previous info

@IanLeeVGC @2x3dropworlds I don‘t even agree on this. If I have CSR in TR with 1 turn left and I either protect it or I don‘t there‘s still relevant info from the set. Protect is telegraphed on the last turn of TR. Have I played safe? Aggressive? Have they been making aggressive calls? That all matters

Honestly I think 50/50 mindgame conditioning is very fake and 50s are just 50s — people can very easily recognize their ‘habits’ in a game just as well as their opponent can and sticking to that ‘habit’ vs not or calling it vs not is not skill expressive
Stefan Mott@PengyTwitch

@MatinVGC Like if it's a turn 1 game 1 true 5050 there's no conditioning on board, sure it's a 5050 but if it's end of game 3 and the 5050 is whether or not the player with fake out online will click it, then there's a ton of conditioning data to pull from so it's not a real 5050

The get in for the East Region Semis in DC (Sweet 16/Elite 8 pod where SJU played with Duke, UConn, and MSU) was like $500+, one of the most expensive ever. Somehow, all 3 games lived up to that price. Wow. What an ending.

@PengyTwitch @2x3dropworlds I think it also depends on the 50/50 - like if it’s protect or nah that’s def just 50/50. If it’s like a 50/50 but the play requires your opponent to like switch and self-attack or something, then I do think there’s some ability to predict

@2x3dropworlds Weird take IMO. Recognizing habits is a very important part of bo3 VGC, but ultimately it is fairly subjective shrug

I said how sad I was that I bought all this vlogging equipment and haven't used it, and now here is the perfect opportunity to vlog this stupid ass journey that could have been a 45 minute flight

Hello Twitter. I am currently in Bangkok and need to be in Phuket in 25 hours. I know, some of you are thinking, isn't that just a 45 minute flight, what's the issue? You'd be right, but...

Claude Code is turning the "idea guy" into a "revenue guy" In the last 24 hours 405 users added a paywall to their iOS app so they can make money. Everyone should be able to try this. So $20 of Opus 4.5 credits for everyone who comments below and likes. Will DM. More info👇

@mckaywrigley @drewgierach Big fan. No coding experience other than vibe coding a few apps this past week. I've looked at the Anthropic courses and some youtube videos, but is there anything else you'd recommend for learning coding from scratch through Claude Code?

I can't tell anymore if these are hot takes, clickbait, or geniuine opinions. For those of you getting into programming, do not start with this or related assumptions. AI will play a role, just like any other new technology, but claims like this are just not true.
Mckay Wrigley@mckaywrigley

@techguyver When I say software will be solved, I just mean software work will almost entirely just be directing AI. I think almost no code will be hand written by 2027. Probably just incredibly low-level stuff at that point for a tiny % of devs.

Has anyone actually met a doctor who uses OpenEvidence or a lawyer who uses Harvey? Both of these companies have raised obscene amounts of money yet none of my friends who are MDs/JDs have touched them. Want to know if these products are vaporware or if my friends are just incompetent.
The Information@theinformation

OpenEvidence is on track to become one of only eight AI application developers with a valuation over $10 billion and annualized revenue exceeding $100 million. Read the details: thein.fo/3Ypa2ON

Introducing Mocha, the world’s first app builder for non-technical builders. Lovable and Replit have a dirty secret: they only work if you’re already technical. We fixed that. New brand. New capabilities. Same mission: app building for the 99%. Comment for 500 free credits at getmocha [dot] com. 👇

@ChuppaVGC Yeah, exactly. The discourse is crazy - nevermind that a freeze was likely at some point, Zachary had ways to lock up the game and didn't. Had the opportunity to remove RNG from the game and didn't (not to take anything away from his fantastic play and run, just hate the takes).

Zachary had several nearly guaranteed ways to win this game that he missed, leading to him needing to dodge an ice beam freeze (10%) across like 8 attempts. It's just wrong to say that he lost finals to some crazy RNG!
MiloNick@MiloNickVGC

This is not cinema, but in reality the win got stolen from Zachary. I really feel it for Zachary, losing a regional this way. With a rng heavy metagame like reg H where a lot of moves have secondary effects, this was bound to happen. Please Pokemon nerf secondary effects.

@ChuppaVGC Think they’re changing EVs to just 66 total stat points (32 limit on each stat). Because with EVs you can sometimes get more stats by putting 4 points into each stat.
