@Role_Play_Chat I think it absolutely depends on the AP. For example, I learned about Monster of the Week from the Adventure Zone…. But I learned how to PLAY it via the Critshow. Both great shows with very different goals.
As an AP GM, I always try to stop and explain rules at least at first.

I’m not sure how I feel about the use of APs as a method to teach viewers about a TTRPG. As a form of entertainment 💯 yes but as a tool to learn a game, I don’t think it sets the right expectations for RP.
Have you used an AP in order to learn a new system? Thoughts?

quarantined from my husband for a few days just in case of gen con covid, good time to watch a dramatic TV show. I recently finished IWTV and basically want more of that but I haven't kept up with TV at all so let me know if you have recommendations!!
