@mathatcap So, the theory goes that in an attempt to stop adepts for good, a Copen tried to seal Earth's energy veins and this ended up killing nature itself.

@mathatcap The theory is Grave Pillar = Glaive Pillar based on them sounding identical in Japanese, and how the surrounding pillars resemble ones in Binding Brand shrines (especially so in a beta screenshot of one stage)

GV is GV. Copen kills the planet with a giant glaive in one timeline. Xiao accidentally created Moebius. Zed being at risk too would complete the four beasts. (since the center dragon sometimes isn't included with the four, is Kirin the exception?)

He just needs the right trauma, say Layla dying, to lose control and transform. It seems like a given he'd be primal dragon king class if it happened. Also, Zed's actions can be interpreted as unwittingly forcing Moebius into playing the destroyer. Moebius just wanted to sleep.

With Moebius being a result of "history's self-correcting force", there's a theory that Zed also exists to be the next destroyer candidate if neither GV nor Moebius do it. He's already reached the conditions for primal dragonization but has remained in control, so (cont.)

Slightly less canon compliant

Copen (El Racista): "Your meddling with time only profanes the world and will never have a positive outcome because adepts (monsters) are the root of destruction!" Xiao: "In one timeline the only thing you did was beat some drone and then lose to a puppet user."

Xiao: "One of my many history altering attempts was working together with your maid Nori to create an opposite sex angel clone of you. The clone being female was Nori's idea though, she said it would be cuter that way." Copen: "What."

(Although in the case of #2, it seems clear that keeping Moebius but omitting his origins harmed the scenario...)

Supposing this idea is true, there's some reasons they might have had that come to mind: 1. Difficulty for newcomers to get into the story. 2. An overload of plot lines could detract from the new protagonist and antagonist, Kirin and Zed. 3. Budget-wise it wasn't feasible then.

I'm glad to finally see the Xiao plot come to fruition, but I also can't shake the impression a lot of this story was initially conceived for GV3 itself and got left out of it for some reason. Well, maybe it's just the old theories from its release that are coming back to mind.

At long last it was revealed that Xiao is a time adept... AND he's been constantly traveling back in time to prevent Gunvolt's awakening, AND this accidentally resulted in Moebius being born too Once, this was all in the realm of mostly baseless theorizing

Totally canon compliant first meeting for the two trust
