@AmiEverAfter I do the same thing now for my inner kid. Clean sheets and a carefully made bed and tidy room all calm my nervous system and feel real nurturing in a way I didn’t get as a kid. You’re doing some awesome mom stuff!

I’ve rewritten this a few times, but I don’t exactly have the words today for what I really want to say, nor the bandwidth to tend to the thread that may unfold. It was thoughts on a childhood between two houses and how my heart still aches over that. What I can control is putting clean sheets on this bed every week before I go get him. Other parts of the house may be in chaos, the laundry may not all be done like I had intended, but he will always come home to a safe clean cozy bed. This is an anchor. A mom thing I’ll do no matter what is going on in my head or heart because I value providing him peace and stability.

If I didn’t have responsibilities and people depending on me I’d be on a plane out of here tonight. To anywhere. Preferably somewhere with a beach, hallucinogenics, and EDM. I’m not ruling out this path forward indefinitely, but for now, a jog with said EDM.
