tbh One Battle After Another was just *good*, everything good about it was from Vineland, and everything they did to make it contemporary just made it conceptually worse, but the execution was really good on what I'd consider a flawed adaptation.

@pokepoke906 It's a big commitment, but there are playlists on youtube that'll get you up to the 7th Oscar Special. Beyond that it's paywalled, but it's like 55 bucks a year, and it lets them keep doing it with full creative control. If you can't afford it, the fans might be able to help out.
