@colleensmanga What made sailor moon to me was the beauty of empathy and friendship but that lacked in the manga. Like usagi leaving her friends alone to sacrifice themself for her because of mamoru compared to the anime.

@colleensmanga In the manga I think Usagi committing suicide because of a man and devaluing her life and everything else because of him is less empowering for women than in the anime where what gave her strength in the final battle was her memory of the girls love for the world and their will.

@colleensmanga In the manga her only real surge of strength comes when Mamoru returns to her side, and that just doesn’t feel right to me. In the anime she kept going thinking about her friends and their sacrifices and she didn’t even kiss Mamoru one last time because the girls never got a kiss
