#Narsarsuaq is a significant location in Greenland's #history, as the name #Greenland was given here. The #Vikings settled here where it is green with an arctic forest. Here you can visit #Brattahlid, the settlement of Erik the Red, and #hiking is a popular activity as well.

#Dynjandi, also known as #Fjallfoss, is a series of waterfalls located in the #Westfjords, #Iceland. It is considered one of the most beautiful #waterfalls in Iceland and is the biggest waterfall in the Westfjords with a total height of 100 metres.

#Kirkjubæjarklaustur is home to #Iceland’s first #monastery, built in 1186. In the area of the village, there are many of the South Coast's interesting attractions such as the #Fjaðrárgljúfur #canyon and #Kirkjugolf- the #churchfloor.

#Dettifoss is a waterfall in #VatnajökullNationalPark in Northeast #Iceland. It is part of the #DiamondCircle and it is considered the most #powerful waterfall in #Europe. This the largest waterfall in #Iceland in terms of volume discharge.

#Igaliku is a small settlement about 30 people in #SouthGreenland. The attractions of the town is the #KingsRoad and the beautiful #hike towards the town. It is also known as #Gardar, the old episcopal see from the #NorseEra.

#MývatnNatureBaths, located in the popular #LakeMývatn Geothermal Area, is an impressive man-made #hotspring. The characteristics of the water are unique in many ways. It contains a large number of #minerals, is alkaline and well suited for bathing.

#King's Road Hike in #Greenland It is a 4km long hike along the very pebbly “Kings Road” which is between #Itilleq and #Igaliku.

#Vatnajökullglacier is the largest glacier in #Europe at 8100 km2. It covers close to 9% of the entire #country. The #glacier is named after the lakes that can be found on top of the #icecap as several active #volcanoes melt the ice from below.

#Svartifoss, or the #BlackFall, is a beautiful #waterfall in #Skaftafell in #VatnajökullNationalPark. It falls off dark lava columns. The #hike to the waterfall takes approximately 45 minutes.

#Patreksfjörður is the biggest #village in the southern part of the #Westfjords, with a population of around 680. In the 20th century, Patreksfjörður was a pioneering force in #Iceland's #fishing industry.

#Mývatn is a #volcaniclake in northern #Iceland. It is located in a #geothermalarea not far from Krafla #volcano. The lake was formed by a volcanic #eruption therefore the surrounding area is characterized by #lava pillars and #craters.

#HornstrandirNatureReserve: The #socialupheaval caused the entire local #population to abandon their farms during the second world war. There are however still houses in the #reserve, both old and new in the area utilized as #summercottages.

#Hornstrandir is the most #isolated area in #Iceland, this #naturereserve is popular amongst hikers and was established in 1975. The features of this detached nature reserve include some of the most spectacular #hikes, including #mountainranges, #tundra, #cliffs, and #prairies.

#HvalseyChurch is the best-preserved ruins from the #NorseEra in #Greenland.

#Tórshavn is the #Capital of the #FaroeIslands and its largest town. It is a cosmopolitan #municipality, where #history and 21st-century #modernity meet to create the city’s #unique charm and appeal.

#Narsarsuaq is a town in #SouthGreenland with the second biggest airport in Greenland. Therefore it is a good place to start any South Greenland #adventure. It is surrounded by large green plains, a fjord, and only 6 km from the #GreenlandIceCap.
