It flattens decades of struggle, sacrifices, and actual authoritarian brutality into a convenient talking point. That’s not courage; that’s selective memory. And the irony? Obi is trying to position himself as morally consistent while casually trivializing one of Nigeria’s darkest eras. You can criticize today’s leaders without sanitizing dictatorship. In fact, doing so undermines the very “New Nigeria” he’s always preaching about. “Power reveals character,” he says true. But so does revisionism.
