@Moulin81 That being said, I don’t know why it is negative to be critical about media that you like, as long as you are respectful about it. I didn’t hate this season, I just think it could’ve been handled differently.

@Moulin81 However, I don’t think it’s invalid to point out where I think this season had issues adapting the source material, more so when I didn’t have most of these issues in the first season. I’m always going to think you need to see adaptations as additions to the overall universe.

The Last of Us ran at about 50% of its full potential all season, and not trusting its audience led to a product that might work on its own, but it's a pale shadow of its source material.

@AaronB0100 I don’t dislike the show at all. I had fun watching this season, and I said it is still a good show that can stand on its own. I just find they made a better job at adapting the first game than the second, and knowing what they’re capable of, it caught me off guard.

@IconicNephilim I absolutely adored the game but I do not understand the constant complaining about the show

@JoeCruzNYC More so when your first contact is a scene with her dad that literally mirrors scenes we had with Joel and Ellie in the previous game. I just think structuring the reveal like that had a bigger impact on the audience.

@JoeCruzNYC But it was quite eye-opening finding out exactly what her revenge was about, because after playing through Ellie’s arc, you’re faced with the reality that you’re basically chasing someone who went through a very similar experience as Ellie.

I just really hope they trusted the source material and the audience more, because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how clear you want your message to sound, those that don't want to get it, won't get it.

I think Eugene's story and how that played in Ellie having no doubts about Joel's lie was a great change. While I'm not entirely sold on the changes in Mel and Owen's deaths, I think having Mel ask Ellie to take her baby out added a lot of layers to that scene.
