The DCU is not going to live or die by the performance of Supergirl and people have got to chill out. The film that absolutely had to succeed was Superman; and it did with flying colors. A film that not only had to convince the general audience that Superman wasn’t boring, but it had to succeed with the overwhelming baggage of the stink that was the Snyder DCEU. People don’t seem to understand the amount people who would simply write off a DC film simply because of all of the past failures. DC is slowly but surely getting itself back to a respectable place and Supergirl simply needs to be a great movie that connects with audiences. If it does that, the box office will follow. People also have to remember that not every Marvel Phase 1 film was a home run at the box office ether. The Incredible Hulk was such a major disappointment that the MCU completely ignored its existence until last year. On top of that, Captain America The First Avenger did not turn a profit in theaters. But Kevin Feige and Company stuck to their vision and believed in what they were creating; despite a couple of major underperformers. We all know what happened next. Supergirl just has to be a great movie and James Gunn and Company believe in what they are creating. So please chill the F out people because this is not how movies should be discussed.
