It's a bit self-defeating to talk about your own soft power out loud, I see it very often these days.

@nezzylina I'm always stressed about how our carvers seem to be getting the most monetary support from the diaspora, I wish our governments were more active is subsidising them, they could build carving academies. The skill is too invaluable to lose.

Aw, a bit disappointed that script is so heavily Kannada inspired, I was hoping it was more original. Not bad, but it's not what I'm looking for.

The only reason you can search yoruba cultural items on google and get back accurate results is because a very select few of us are decimating hordes of igbo disinformation every week in critical spaces. Sure, be nonchalant, you've no idea what type of war is being waged on you.

This is my biggest beef with Yoruba Ronu. Like this is such an irrelevant issue to be expending so much time on. One idiot even wrote a full book. Of all the problems Yorubas are facing? Lack of direction 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

When I started the journey of designing a writing system for Yorùbá, I had three main goals in mind: (1) it must be beautiful to look at, (2) tone marks and letters should blend seamlessly, and (3) it must be easy to read, write, and learn.

@Deluwa I believe most sensible people will acknowledge Hausas as peaceful people. The problem is that most known Hausa influencers will defend Fulanis because of religion, even a few Yorubas are culpable in that. Hausas need to be louder and quicker while Tinubu is still in charge.

@Idaranyan I assure u freedom for Hausa will be positive for other ethnic groups in 9ja. The Fulani causing problems in Nigeria were mistaken for Hausa because of our close ties. If Hausa separate their identity from Fulani every1 will know who the real enemies of peace in Nigeria are.

Hausa 'agitation' is good for Yoruba interest, but actual Hausa freedom will have unpredictable results, could be both great or bad for us. I don't see it as a moral cause that needs our support because in the end, they willingly supported their own mass disenfranchisement.

I resonate a lot with Japan's 'orderly' disposition, and I feel like people should stop trying to tell them how to live. Unfortunately, between the openly prudish hypocrisy and the unprovoked racism, these international twitter lashings are deserved. Very sad.

Wood can be carved into spoons, bowls, plates, trays, mortars in-fact, an entire kitchen. But our craft schools stop at chairs and tables. Woodturning, hand carving, decorative joinery, these skills exist in our tradition and are barely taught formally. The market for handcrafted wooden kitchenware is global. The craft knowledge to supply it is local. That gap is a business nobody is building. Clay and wood built African kitchens for centuries. Plastic arrived and called itself modern.

Plastic utensils are cheap. They are also feeding you plastic. A single cut on a plastic board releases over 1,000 microplastic particles into your food. Up to 50 grams of plastic consumed per person, per year. Clay keeps food warm. Clay keeps water cool. Clay leaches nothing. Wood doesn’t melt. Wood doesn’t disrupt your hormones. Wood lasts decades. Two materials our grandmothers used without question. One material a factory sold you as an upgrade.

It's not like Ilorin where the British strengthened Fulani power after Yoruba Baloguns rendered the Emir powerless.
