@Augusketchs This is what I've been saying she was supposed to be the strongest threat ever walked. Traditional firebending × lightning + combustion. Mind you she took a blast from a dragon after long yrs of cold imprisonment She wouldve been a walking disaster. Too bad she was there to die.

Then you look at P'li being part of an elite group, using regular firebending on top but dying all the same to an sneak attack just to "free" Zaheer i dont think the writters even gave her lighthingbending, they should of let her shoot that from her fucking forehead

Outside of in-universe explanations, the reason Combustion Man never uses standard firebending in ATLA is because he was designed as a one-note, high-threat assassin. His combustion blasts ARE his firebending and limiting him to that is what made him unique and dangerous.

I think the only thing this comic did well was prove behind a shadow of a doubt that Ozai was physically and mentally abusive towards Zuko his entire life (obvious in the show as well if you have an understanding of abusive family structures) but the reason for it is definitely

@leonelsuh Roku wins against Ozai. No disrespect to the phoenix king but he lived and thrived off the fear and oppression of his subjects. We never really saw him in combat except with Aang at the end and it was the commet that amplified his power that much!!! My opinion though

What’s funny is, once you remove the avatar state and shift to pure element only, the fight starts leaning towards the specialists because their whole identity is built around that one element. So… Aang vs Gyatso is the hardest one, but Gyatso probably takes it off experience plus he taught Aang everything. Roku vs Ozai… don’t know what to say about this one Korra vs Katara is close, but Katara is the pure waterbender. Kyoshi vs Toph is actually tough to pick😏

@percivoreart I've been saying lavabending is one of the most broken in LoK. They should have left it as avatar only skill(fire+earth) or make a subset for both fire/earth each manipulating a certain aspect of lava

@dfw_joee I think an avatar can learn bending in any order but they choose to stick to tradition for balance. If it was impossible Roku wouldn't force jeong jeong to teach Aang. Aang burned katara due to lack of self control.

I don’t really think anything will happen, or perhaps nature will find a way to restore order. If you remember, Aang actually learned firebending shortly after learning the basics of waterbending and before earthbending, but he vowed never to firebend again after burning Katara

You know avatars are born into a specific nation and follow the cycle right? So what would happen if a Water Tribe Avatar baby got kidnapped and raised as a Fire Nation kid, would they end up learning firebending first since they’d think they’re a firebender now?

@wasuptalababy P’li pretty much only used fire bending to block firebending attacks. Combustion man didn’t have an opportunity to do that so his focus was offense. And as far as offense goes, if I had the choice between a flamethrower and an RPG I’m picking the RPG everytime
