Who thinks I should start posting here again?

@Lophophanes I made this account and then my life promptly got incredibly busy, so I had to shelve it for a while. This seems like a nice occasion to dust it off haha
English

@EliotITMiller That’s a REALLY good one!

@IdenticalBirds To be honest I think this female sunbird actually looks like juvenile (thus, pale) Bananaquits. Which is ALSO a nectarivorous species!

English

@AlexJHolt Now we just need to discover some psychedelic nectar-feeding bat. 😂
English

@IdenticalBirds Nectar feeding birds are one of my favourite examples of convergent evolution.
Separately hummingbirds, sunbirds, honeycreepers, Hawaian Honeycreepers and Honeyeaters all separately were like "the optimal requirements for eating nectar are a long probing beak & FABULOUS colours"

Thanks @MarkyMutchler for pointing this one out!
English

@OnlyVeesAz @KublaiKhan17 We actually did this one a few weeks ago! One of the best doppelgänger combos there is!

English

@opsimath6 @bhrigz I love it! This guy is the best dressed person in the world hahaha

I’m not going to make a habit of retweeting stuff. But this thread is impossibly good.
