Saying Gordon will flop at Barça because of the “Premier League tax” is the same thing people said about Raphinha. Raphinha came from Leeds and it looked like he wouldn’t succeed at the club (most especially because Xavi didn’t profile him well). Now, under Flick, he’s one of the most important players in the team because of his pressing, energy, and directness. Gordon offers many of the same qualities. His numbers have gone down over the last two seasons because of injuries and rotation, but his pace, work rate, and ability to attack space are exactly what we need. It’s high time we moved on from thinking twice about signing players based on the league they come from and focus more on their profile and how they fit the system.

Last summer Barca were ready to spend €80M on Nico Williams. Nico said no. They then came for Rashford and only offered a loan with a €30M option. Rashford goes on to put up 25 G/A in 41 games and now they're still refusing to pay the €30M, asking for ANOTHER loan instead. But €80-90M for Gordon isn't a problem?
