Ado-Odo Begins 2nd Coronation Anniversary Rites with the Fetching of Ìjí Water There is a quiet power that comes with tradition, one that binds the past to the present and prepares a people for what lies ahead. That spirit came alive in Adó as the Adherents of the Ìṣẹ́ṣe/Ifá formally began the commencement of activities marking the 2nd Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty, Aláyélúwà Ọba Olúṣọlá Idris Adébọ̀wálé Làmídì-Ọsọ́lọ̀ [ANIMN, MCIHRM, MIPMA], the Oba of Adó and Olófin Adimula Oòduà of Àwórìland. The activities began on Monday, 4th May, 2026, not with noise or spectacle, but with something far more profound, which was the sacred rite of fetching the Ìjí Water by the Olóòṣà who gathered in their numbers to observe this age-old tradition. The Ìjí water entails purity, renewal and divine connection. It is the water through which prayers are lifted, through which the land is spiritually cleansed and through which the people seek the blessings of the ancestors and the gods. Supplications were offered for peace in the land, steady progress, prosperity, divine guidance for the throne and every son and daughter of our dear kingdom and the entire Àwórìland. His Majesty has expressed deep appreciation to all Olóòṣà, chiefs, priests, priestesses and the entire people of Ado-Odo whose presence and participation give life to these sacred observances. Chief Kazeem Akinsola Nasir [CFM, CABM, MERIN], The Ìríjú Oba & Secretary to the Palace of the Oba of Adó & Olofin Adimula Oodua of Aworiland. Published, Wednesday 6th May, 2026.

Did You Know? The Yoruba ethnic group already had their spiritual religion thriving as a church in Harlem back in 1960, and it was actively fighting for the emancipation of African Americans. Their worship centre even attracted prominent activists during the Black Power era

As a Yoruba and as a black, it is very disrespectful for people to start the argument about if any of our Orisa are black or white. There is an adage in Yoruba “Inu Ikoko dudu ni ekọ funfun ti jade” that alone should be enough to tell you that the creation of the Universe started here, so why would you see any Orisa as a white person.

Originally composed in 1964 during a period of intense political friction, "Yorùbá Ẹ Ronú" (Yorubas, Reflect) by Chief Hubert Ogunde, the doyen of Yoruba Theatre, remains a definitive anthem for self-examination, unity, and integrity in leadership. The musical video by Tunde Kelani features Crown Troupe of Africa led by Segun Adefila. youtu.be/cDtjn1Caw2o

My Yorùbá ancestors knew this and passed it down to us....they taught us the name of trees and shrubs and roots....they taught us how to speak to them and ask for their help when lost in the forest or when sick ....all of this is embedded in IFÁ...it's not new.

🚨: Scientists confirm that trees communicate through sound ─ And forests are constantly having conversations human cannot hear

Why do these people always trying to lump their foreign religious culture with our Yoruba identity, wanting to make what seems immoral and unacceptable to us now feel normal and acceptable?
