It’s always a joy spending time with the amazing children of Methodist Primary School I, Oke Agogo, Igbo-Ora. Every child deserves a seat in the classroom. Today, we honour the mothers who make our work possible because they stand with us for the children. In our mission to rescue children, educate them, and reintegrate them back into families, it is these women who hold the home together. Many of them live with very little, yet they carry great virtue, courage, and a commitment to their children. By rebuilding family livelihoods with these mothers, we help restore stability where it matters most, at home. And where these mothers stand strong, our work becomes easier. It’s a proud moment for us as our Naomi James matriculates at the University of Ibadan. Moments like this strengthen our resolve to keep believing in the dream of every child and giving them the opportunity to rewrite their story.

Remember where you were at age 13. You were probably in JSS3, learning, growing, and preparing for the future. But Auwa, Aisha, and many girls like them are only just starting school. At 13, they are learning how to hold a pen and write their names. At our Bridge Learning Centre, we deliver 9 years of education and essential skills within just 3 years to children like Auwa. We know this works. When given the opportunity, these girls can thrive. Many girls we helped reintegrate into school are now in senior secondary school, and some are graduating from the university. Across the Lagos Lagoon, there are children in remote communities whose journey to school isn’t a short walk or a bus ride. For them, access to education means crossing the waters; often under difficult and unsafe conditions. Energy! And what a way to approach the weekend. We love a good competition. Especially one filled with excitement, teamwork, and brave young hearts giving it their all. The inter-house sports event in our children's school reminded us that winning isn’t just about medals (though we’re very proud of those too 😃). Every race run, every cheer shouted, and every challenge faced is a building block; shaping confidence, resilience, and belief that will carry these children far beyond the field. God allows us to go through things that we may come to realise that he alone is our source and the true strenghth of our lives. We get completely delivered from trying to win the approval of others at the expense of our deepest convictions. You come out with an "attitude." Now you know who actually preserves you and where your true loyalty lies. Jesus described a situaton where a person was hated by all men, betrayed by those closest to him yet not one hair upon his head persihed. He came out in possesion of his soul. He gathered his soul from where it had all been scattered in "love affairs" with people and things outside of his true love which is God. Luke 21:16-19 "16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. 18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience possess ye your souls."

Today, new children were admitted to our Bridge Learning Center. They came with small hands but they have touched a new world.
