@spizivert Nice ragebait, first of all, hit your spells, then lets build the correct items and after its done, well, u just win since that talon had like 200 HP left
can we nerf riven? i cant stand this outrageous 500ad 200armor 200magic resist champion with no cooldown dashes 700health shield that lasts 2 seconds on a 2 second cooldown with infinite sustain and
@RiotPhroxzon Why is this game in maintenance mode for a year now? Every patch is some boring shit +10 dmg / - 10 dmg on a random champ. Can we make meaningful buffs, nerfs, reworks, items etc
Patch 26.13 Full Preview!
Senna
- Senna is the big winner of the Season 2 changes, synergizing well with Doran's Helm (gets a lot of effective health from her Q heal synergizing with the resists) as well as getting a lot of stats from Jack of All Trades
- She also synergizes well with Stattik Shiv on-hit, and we've made the decision to not support this interaction (Q CD reduction on-hit), even though it is pretty cool
- Given all this, we think she does a bit too much damage given how durable she is
Brand
- Brand changes are primarily targeted at his Bot carry tuning, while also trying to affect his support and mid less
- That said, Brand support is also often a frustrating experience for bot laners and so we think he should also sit a little lower sustainably
- Given that Brand Support synergizes better with mana regen, we're compensating through this avenue but adding some amount of mana pressure for the roles that need to use E more often
Cassiopeia
- For Cassio, we want to retain her identity of having strong all-in pressure early as that adds texture to the roster and she's one of the unique mages that can do this
- We're targeting her durability in the mid-game where she is more vulnerable, espeically in skirmishes or when she's playing on the sidelane
- This can help to keep her edges, but present more areas of vulnerability for opponents
Bard
- Bard is the top of the meta for both Pro and in many skill brackets in Solo Q
- We're adjusting how much damage his builds do, especially given his tank roaming builds tend to do a lot more damage than expected
Leblanc
- Helping Leblanc scale a little better into the Mid and Late game with this set of changes
- Given that these buffs help scaling, should also disproportionately help Solo Q
Olaf
- We're not looking to buff Olaf jungle a huge amount, given that he's already flex viable in top lane, but given that Jungle was his initial primary role, we want to make it more viable than it currently is
- A pretty simple targeted buff at his Q that should help how fast he clears, especially into the later portions of the game
@RiotPhroxzon@drewlevin Imagine calling that a Rumble nerf. Like wtf are they smoking? Lmfaoooo.
Also brand and senna need bigger nerfs, it’s very obvious they do, Senna especially.
Leblanc buffs are forced for pro play.
Draven doesn’t need buffed, mages in the bot lane need to be nerfed.
@RiotPhroxzon I have said it for a long time and I will continue to do so.
And with all the Ragebait of "buff Lethality Yi" or "Buff Vayne Top" flying around, I don't see why I shouldn't.
I am furthermore of the opinion, we need old Aatrox back.
Patch 26.13 Preview!
Mostly champion changes today for our final MSI Patch, so going to go a bit lighter on context to chat more about them tomorrow.
Locke
- Locke will also hit the Rift some time during Patch 26.13
- We're super excited for his release (I know I will be playing him a bunch :D) and have seen a lot of community hype for him as well
- Currently, we're trying to lock down a few tunings and timings on some of his abilities as well as where we want his power budget and maxes to be (a process called fine tuning)
- A lot is changing day by day, in particular, the amount of power budget in his W has been something we're trying to fine tune as well as how Normal vs Elite skewed he is
Doran's Helm
- Doran's Helm has started to be picked up on a few ADC's, especially ones that have particularly strong synergies with the resists (Senna through healing and the effective health it provides synerging well with the resists) and Jhin (as he has a lot of his early damage in base damage)
- We're looking to keep these incentives intact directionally, but try to make the item a little more balanced for these users, while trying to grow the user pool a bit as a result
Imperial Mandate
- For systems changes, we have an Imperial Mandate buff. So far it has added a few users into the pool, however a bunch of these are midlaners like Galio, fringe TF, Liss, etc.
- This set of changes is meant to position it to be more fantasy forward for Support champions while also giving it a bit of a power up. It's not really the "best item" on any support at current tuning and for an item with as strong kit synergies as this it probably should be if it's appropriately powerful
Champion Changes
- At a high level, changes this patch are mostly aimed at making some of the fringe picks a little more viable and tailored towards the situations teams might want to pick them, especially in later series of the MSI tournament
@RiotPhroxzon Buff LB??!!!! Shi is already broken wtf is this.
Where mages nerfs? Where botlane nerfs?
Not a single one of those champs needs any buffs aside fron maybe Zaahen, which is strong, range and easiness to kite and space is broken in general.
genuine question, as an adc what would u pick into this teamcomp that could carry without needing much peel from ur team ? i picked brand here and it just wasn't enough, i stomped early but then just died over and over because unless i have 4 kerias in my team what can i do ?/srs
@AlanTheTeemo Idk maybe cuz even my dead goldfish can dodge that one q button, just like her ult, her W useless and if u cant hit your Q, its eta gg. Velkoz is the same, E easy to predict and dodge, xerath also just dodge E into lose trade. Literally a merc thread can counter these
For what reason is lux not playable in high elo/competitive? Seems like a high waveclear high range champ that can burst on any cc in coordinated play would be really strong, basically a more reliable xerath
@Reptile9LoL I mean it's a vote for a reason, if 2 people want to stay then suck it up. If you queue for a league match then time isn't that important currently.
@legent120@Reptile9LoL You either iron 18 or u are retarded. No inbetween."you que up to play duration of th game".We que up to win. But sadly some game just unwinnable and unplayable. This "I've won games from this" is just so stupid. Its not bronze 43,they wont start going into 1v5 and throw 20k lead
@Reptile9LoL too bad math and logic say to never ff. you q'd up thats signing up to play duration of the game. I have won games from this position, as im sure you have too. whats the difference in 2-4 minutes if your goal is climbing? Unless your goal is to play raw game count then sure. lmao
@Reptile9LoL Insta no click from me.
If you brought your first time karthas into my ranked game then you clearly need your reps. Stay in this game and think about what you did.
@drewlevin@Agurinlol Honest question: do you think a 11-34 game is winnable? And its not your shit low elo gold4 game btw. You fix some pixel in a video game, drop your ego pal
@RiotPhroxzon EKKO BUFF XDDDDD AHAHAHA im gonna legit kill myself why the fuck are we buff this skin color diff arcane champion when he can legit just stat check you with hail of blades DnD at any lvl and then he just remix replay every 25 sec or smthing. I cba this dog company fr
Patch 26.11 Preview!
In 26.11, we're making a few adjustments to the Support ecosystem to improve diversity, especially in terms of melee vs ranged balance.
We're also doing some continued followup to champs after some of the Season 2 changes have been optimized.
AP Xin Zhao has popped out as one of the most striking and fun champs, but his healing is a bit on the high side, especially when he's outhealing some of the champs designed around healing.
That said, we still think healing a bunch is exciting and worth supporting, just not at this magnitude.
Systems
- With the role quests in Season Start, ranged supports have risen to the top of the pecking order
- They're both the best at multiplying ADC's who are strong currently, as well as benefiting the most from being in lane for role quests
- Roaming also pays a higher systemic cost as it puts both yourself behind on quest progress and makes it so your ally ADC can't stack their quest
- Overall, this has been desirable, as we think in 2025, roaming was too high for the most part and especially undercut the satisfaction of players in bot lane wanting to a play a “real laning phase”
- At the same time though, we do want to open up a bit of roaming power on the grub timing after early lane is done and so we're buffing up the reward of grubs just slightly
- We're making a broad set of changes to both improve the desirability of some underpurchased items, as well as more finely tune the purpose of various items in the ecosystem
- Other systems adjustments this patch are changes to Experimental Hexplate that aim to make it shine on both melee and ranged users.
- Currently the best users are champs like Nocturne, Olaf, Vayne, Varus and we think we can strike a better balance on more champions while also making the item tradeoffs more apparent for durability vs damage on Vayne and Varus (mostly manifesting in Top)
- The other systems impacting changes are some adjustments to Diana and Ekko jungle who have been slightly worse for wear there (though Mid is mostly fine)
@miltlul@RiotPhroxzon who cares about this faceroll noskill dog champ. even my dead goldfish can do 5 penta kill in one game. press buttons so u will win more idk
@RiotPhroxzon Can you guys PLEASE. REVERT Master Yi's Q scaling DOWN with AH that was made in 12.5
Recieving AH on him feels so bad and the game doesnt have duskblade anymore and not nearly as much AH that used to be.
Please address this please 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏
@TheSaltlobbyist@KagenXekkios@Spideraxe30 What a waste of gold and item slot. U delay your actual crit power spike so much if u build this first. There are literally better options for zeri. But ig its w/e in gold 4
@KagenXekkios@Spideraxe30 I mean I am not talking about bruiser Zeri, you build hexplate first but play crit adc aside of that. You build it because of the speed boost and the ult cdr
We're in the process of adding a Smolder nerf into Patch 26.10.
Smolder
Q - Super Scorcher Breath
Damage :: 65 / 80 / 95 / 110 / 125 (+130% bonus AD) >>> 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 (+130% bonus AD)
W - Achooo!
Explosion Physical Damage :: 10 - 110 (+65% bonus AD) (+80% AP) >>> 10 - 110 (+50% bonus AD) (+80% AP)
We've observed his power level continue to grow over the course of the patch.
The main factor is his synergy with DFT and it will continue to be good after the changes.
Will chat more about it in Patch Rundown.
@RiotPhroxzon Nafiri "nerf" is useless my god. Look at the ban rate it’s Mel 2.
And why is Ambessa getting incredible buff, you really want people to play your woke new champ and avoid the other it’s so cringe
Full Patch Preview 26.10!
Systems
- New from yesterday are small buffs to Doran's Bow and Helm
- Doran's Bow at this tuning is the most efficient starting item, but the tradeoff to all of the others is opening yourself up to dying from ganks and all-ins
- We're also giving a small buff to Doran's Helm as it's predominantly a K'Sante item at this tuning and we think it can be broadened to more users
- In 26.11, we intend to make a change to Cleaver and its interaction stacking with Deathfire Touch to give it an internal cooldown
- These changes were too risky to do on this patch however
- Lich Bane changes are aimed at providing more differentiation to Dusk and Dawn on the Movespeed and Burst Damage aspect, however we don't think we can go much higher than these values
- Cyclosword is looking a little strong and so we're giving it a nerf
- At the same time, we think after these changes it will still be a bit on the stronger side, but we want to give it a bit more time to stabilize and we can discover the shape of the optimized patterns and what users come out
Zed and Naafiri
- We have to talk about Zed and Naafiri if talking about Cyclosword
- As 2 of the AD Assassins with a functional poke pattern, these champs were always going to benefit from Cyclosword's new passive in the same way that if there was no AD Sheen item and we added one, it would be disproportionately powerful on those users
- We're taking care not to overly nerf these two champions, but they're also too strong with Cyclosword
- We're giving a small nerf to both champions, but they will still likely be strong after the nerfs as it seems reasonably likely that we'll need to adjust Cyclosword in the future as its true balance state becomes more known (and we don't want to Riot special these champions)
Ambessa
- Last patch, the R changes, which we think are good for the champ long term, ended up being a pretty moderate sized nerf
- We're restoring a bunch of power back to her now that we know the power level more clearly
- We're opting not to restore power in any of her mobility capabilities and instead increasing the throughput of each ability cast
Anivia
- These changes are targeted at nerfing Anivia in non-mid roles, especially Top lane where her trading patterns are a bit more oppressive to play against
Lee Sin
- This patch features some modernization changes to Lee Sin to help him feel more fluid and pull off some fancy plays without giving him more net power
- There are a few feelsbad mechanics adjustments that were added to Lee's kit over 10 years ago (like penalizing ward hops) that don't really make sense in the modern game anymore [I remember getting an interview question about these changes when I was just starting at Riot!]
- These changes are aimed at providing Lee more opportunities for incredible highlight moments and raising his skill ceiling, given that he's been out so long and many players are at the top of his mastery curve
- We'll be keeping an eye on how these changes affect Lane Lee Sin as well
