Stoic Philosophy: 1. Control your mind. 2. Accept the universe. 3. Ignore the fools. The Exception: 4. Forat from the HOA says some stupid shit on the neighborhood Facebook page. At that point, the Republic falls.

We're rolling out a small tweak to boost visibility of your posts to your mutuals (people who you follow back). We noticed this data was missing from the algo and it made your friends appear less in your replies. This resulted in the reply section feeling more like a battleground with people you don't recognize. This should also help clusters form around interests more easily, which many people have asked for.

My greatest fear in hosting the World Cup and 4 base camps was that there’d be a major security event that impacted people’s lives and forever changed our reputation as a region. The games are over and I want to acknowledge the tremendous effort that has gone into protecting our community from potential threats and preparing for all scenarios. Much of this work happened at the Mid-America Regional Council (@MARCKCMetro), where Overland Park Assistant City Manager Bryan Dehner co-chairs the Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee. This work includes hospital readiness, law enforcement interoperability and coordination, cybersecurity and other public health and safety tasks. There are so many people who deserve credit for pulling off this major event, many of whom fly under the radar. To the brave first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, planners, nurses, cyber experts and others who’ve put in extra time over the past year+ and especially the last 2 months, thank you. You showcased the best of our region and helped our residents and visitors stay safe.

Another day, another story about a local business not seeing impact from the World Cup. International event marketing playbook: -Pay a few influencers to make a video about your business. -Get in the algorithm with videos titled “drink like a local at these KC dive bars” or “avoid the line at Starbucks and hit this cute west end coffee shop” -Drop off flyers at local hotels -Do not, under any circumstance, complain to local media Some local folks struggled with marketing basics for this event and that’s a shame.

I’m in a text group with 30 enterprise execs driving ai transformation at their companies. It is the #1 community I’ve become a part of this year. Battle tested AI tools, challenges, and wins are shared constantly and we are starting to meet as a group monthly for live discussion. I want more of the energy and value this group provides, but I don’t want to dilute it, so I'm spinning up a few more of these this quarter. Each group is capped at 30 people and the rules are simple… No sales pitches. Just smart people sharing how they’re using AI personally and how they’re transforming their org with AI (successfully and unsuccessfully). If you want to join one of these groups, reply with "ai,” and if it’s a good fit I’ll DM you an invite.
