Cleveland has officially unveiled “The Midline,” a massive 350-acre redevelopment initiative focused on transforming long-vacant industrial land on the city’s East Side into a new hub for manufacturing, business growth, green space, and public connectivity. City officials are calling it the largest industrial redevelopment project in modern Cleveland history. The project is centered around former industrial properties near Opportunity Corridor and stretches through areas connected to Central, Fairfax, and Midtown. Plans for the district include more than 1.5 million square feet of industrial and commercial development, new parks and public green space, multi-use trail connections, infrastructure improvements, and an estimated 2,500+ jobs tied to future investment in the area. Mayor Justin Bibb and city leaders say the goal is not only to attract major economic development, but also to reconnect neighborhoods that were historically separated by decades of industrial decline and underinvestment.
