Most traders obsess over entries.
ICT traders obsess over time.
Because the market doesn’t move randomly — it moves on time-based algorithms.
Understanding ICT Macro Time is what separates retail guessing from institutional precision.
Every trading hour has specific time windows where the algorithm tends to deliver its real move.
These are called Macro Times.
For example:
• 9:50 – 10:10
• 10:50 – 11:10
• 13:10 – 13:40
• 14:10 – 14:40
These windows are where the market often:
• Forms the high or low of the day
• Delivers displacement
• Reverses after liquidity raids
• Expands into the next dealing range
If you study enough charts, you’ll notice something interesting.
Price often manipulates liquidity before the macro time,
then delivers the real move during the macro window.
This is why ICT constantly emphasizes:
“Time is more important than price.”
When macro time aligns with:
• Liquidity sweep
• PD Array (FVG, OB, etc.)
• Premium or Discount
• Killzone
That’s when the highest probability setups appear.
Instead of staring at charts all day, wait for the algorithmic delivery windows.
Professional traders don’t trade all day.
They trade specific minutes when the algorithm is most active.
Master time, and price will start making sense.
Study the charts.
Mark the macro windows.
Watch how often the move happens inside them.
The market is not random.
