been using gstack over the last 24 hours and i am incredibly impressed it has insane skills and does stuff I didn't know was possible with skills the technical implementation here is fantastic!! highly recommend this to any founder! uplevels your thinking, helps you clarify what to work on next, and helps you execute i rarely promote stuff like this but Garry blew it out of the water with this one everyone should run gstack: 1. open claude in your codebase 2. prompt claude with this: "run git clone github.com/garrytan/gstac… ~/.claude/skills/gstack && cd ~/.claude/skills/gstack && ./setup"
Garry Tan@garrytan

I'm on a journey to build a software factory, and this is my open source project gift to you. github.com/garrytan/gstack

yes i too have been rejected by yc 3x but i stopped using that as a signal for success. there are more cracked startups that don't get into yc than actually get in. - they can only bring a certain number into each cohort. - they have a specific thesis - sometimes it's not about how good your company is, it's just timing and fit so just keep doing what you do and you'll have 100x other options to be successful.

@ImSh4yy In my experience, xhigh wastes too much time and quality is pretty similar to high

Hear me out: if the MacBook Neo runs on an iPhone chip, what if we could plug our iPhones into a monitor and it becomes a desktop? Kind of like what Samsung DeX does, but not shitty.

@tenobrus Eh, Opus is much more eager to dive in and read the data instead of writing code to parse it based on my experience.

every model will do this btw. given large quantities of data they love to write code to process it rather than read it themselves. ur best bet here is allowing them to write code that calls models, RLM style

What I find funny about GPT-5.4 is that it's constantly trying to take shortcuts. I've been trying to get the model read a dozen or so paragraphs for sentiment analysis, and it keep writing python scripts to do FTS instead of just reading the whole thing 😂

@elithrar problem is that most of these agents are extremely inefficient :(

recently bought a refurb 13” Air (M4/16GB/512GB) at $849. still a good deal, but would have seriously considered the Neo. 8GB RAM is plenty for a text editor, agent, LSPs and Chrome. modern OS’ will use what you give them, which is often why it looks like you need more.

@kathyyliao @arvidkahl Product landing pages, some are static some require client side rendering. It's been a while, but last I checked it was around 5s or more to return.

@ImSh4yy I don't really get why it's on by default. So much compute and money wasted on it.

@Sankew06 It's not worth it because you're not the target audience. Look outside of your bubble and you'll see how this is going to sell like hot cakes.

i don't care what anyone says, but the MacBook Neo is not worth it -Only 8GB RAM -No Touch ID on the base model -No Backlit keys -No force touch trackpad, it's a diving board trackpad -Weak I/O you should probably get a M2, M3 or M4 MacBook Air at a discount instead.

Apple has always been stingy with memory, and this is their price ladder to push people (those who even know what memory is) towards the Air. The audience for this don't even know what terminal is, and some little swap here and there isn't a big deal compared to the chrome books they are currently using.

Neo is cool but 8GB of RAM? In this RAM usage inflationary economy? Can barely open a terminal with 32GB these days

Dude, huge audience for this. Outside of tech, most people barely do anything aside from browsing and some lightweight apps here and there. They walk into Apple Store, "gimme the pink one that matches my stanley cup 🥺👉👈" and walk out. Very few care about specs, how much ram they are getting or have the time to go find older an Macbook or whatever.
