We spoke with an Activision rep that confirmed the Open Matchmaking in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 MP will be the same as it was in the beta, with skill minimally considered in the open playlists.

Call of Duty: “We will have classic matchmaking with skill minimally across ALL MP playlists at launch” 1 Week Later: “Only one playlist moshpit will have closed SBMM at launch. The rest will have open” Overtime all the bad players will go to closed sbmm… WOOOOOWWWW

What’s your go-to weapon in Battlefield 6 so far?

@zcentric Queuing with my 2 box in normal modes doesn’t work at all but it works in the open moshpit. I’m still playing CDL lobby’s when I solo queue open moshpit. I just hate everyone saying sbmm is gone when it’s clearly still very strong in that mode.

This testing is invalid. There is a disproportionate number of high skill players on the beta as a whole, and the skew becomes much worse on the Open Moshpit. SBMM is deprioritized. Not removed. Two boxing will continue to work on the playlist, but it is not nearly as effective as it would be in normal modes. The matchmaking times and average connection are proof enough that there are significant changes to matchmaking on that playlist. It’s an irrefutable fact.

I have done some testing for a few days now and I can say sbmm is still cranked in the open moshpit. I search normal and it’s still extremely sweaty for 90% of the matches. I party up with my 2 box and search and it feels like normal cod. Not a crazy bot lobby but normal.
