@elonmusk Im onboard with this but multi-planetary civilisations make sense when the destination is immediately inhabitable! Otherwise we are leaving a verdant space to go stand in a desert without air. Interstellar a travel is the way. (More this and less far right falsehoods please 👍🏻)

The first Starships to Mars will launch in 2 years when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens.
These will be uncrewed to test the reliability of landing intact on Mars. If those landings go well, then the first crewed flights to Mars will be in 4 years.
Flight rate will grow exponentially from there, with the goal of building a self-sustaining city in about 20 years. Being multiplanetary will vastly increase the probable lifespan of consciousness, as we will no longer have all our eggs, literally and metabolically, on one planet.

SpaceX created the first fully reusable rocket stage and, much more importantly, made the reuse economically viable. Making life multiplanetary is fundamentally a cost per ton to Mars problem. It currently costs about a billion dollars per ton of useful payload to the surface of Mars. That needs to be improved to $100k/ton to build a self-sustaining city there, so the technology needs to be 10,000 times better. Extremely difficult, but not impossible.

@F1lippos Lando would have fought harder against another driver but against his team mate there was more caution. That’s what gave Oscar the space. Oscar knew Lando would not risk it, but HE risked it. Oscar will NOT win the 24 WDC and he will prevent Lando if this attitude continues.

@ZBrownCEO Support Lando for WDC and the constructors will come. If championship positions were reversed I’d be saying support Oscar, but they are not. Need better clarity, Oscar’s ballsy lunge compromised Lando who had to avoid a collision. A 1-2 went begging. EVERY point counts.

We leave Monza with Lando closing the gap to Max in the Drivers’ Championship and the team closing the gap in the Constructors’ Championship. I’m proud of this team and our trajectory.

@McLarenF1 @OscarPiastri Oscar is a future champ, no doubt. But McLaren are risking the constructors champ and Lando’s tilt at the WDC. Oscar caused Lando’s exit to be compromised, a straight DRS overtake would be fine but that move cost McLaren a 1-2 by giving LEC a sniff. Shocking management.

@ImTheBlueGuy @wbuxtonofficial From what I saw and heard, it was because Lewis went on softs. If the GOAT does it, it must be right seemed to be Landos thinking...but Lewis didn't have new mediums, like mclaren did, otherwise he'd have went onto them instead.

I’d argue they threw it away at the first stop. And that they’ve thrown away 3 of the last 6 races. With arguably the best overall car in the sport, if they want a shot at their first constructors’ title this millennium, McLaren has to take proactive control of their strategy.

It’s not hindsight, at the time even I knew it was wrong. I feel sick at the thought even now… the team know they’ve fucked up a 1-2.
