Good news is - China 🇨🇳 and many nations in the Global South are in the mean time just pushing ahead to the green future of humanity. At Guazhou, in Gansu province, China just commisioned the worlds first solar therminal plant with 27 000 mirrors. Each of the mirrors is computer-controlled to precisely follow the sun’s trajectory throughout the day. The concentrated sunlight heats molten salt stored in receivers at the top of the towers to temperatures exceeding 500°C. This allows the plant to continue producing electricity even after sunset — one of the biggest limitations of traditional solar farms. lnkd.in/dnDDnQhs

The man who didnt run away. President Ranil Wickremesinghe has pulled off a political miracle in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. 18 months ago the nation was in its deepest economic crisis ever. There were constant power cuts and long cews to buy fuel. Inflation was skyrocketing and most businesses on the verge of collapse. The people toppled the then President. Stability is now restored in the land. Inflation is low. Power cuts and lining up for fuel are things of the past. Life is fore sure still tough for many Sri Lankans. There is lot of economic pain. But Sri Lanka can start looking ahead. To all the opportunites of a better future. 🤩 President Ranil Wickremesinghe was the man who didnt run away when the crisis hit. It was wonderful to have a delicious dinner with mye old friends Ranil and his wife Maithree in Colombo.
