A man stabbed a woman to death yesterday in Love Lane in downtown Kingston, Jamaica.
Around 6:15 p.m., 50-year-old Katherine Wallace was fatally stabbed along Love Lane in full view of bystanders. Witnesses tried to intervene and protect her. The attack was captured on video surveillance.
The suspect, identified as Davar Dacres, fled the scene after the stabbing. Several hours later, around 11:30 p.m., police confronted him at the intersection of Hanover and Beeston Streets. He allegedly charged at the officers with the same ratchet knife that was used in the attack and reportedly said, “I’m not going to jail.” The police shot him, and he died at the scene.
