My two cents on the repatriation of French gold bars: - France asked to return their 12.5 kg gold bars - US had already sold them - US offered to wire the money - France accepted and bought new 12.5 kg gold bars in London - Both countries agreed on the following spin to sell the story: - new bars bought to ‘meet current standards’ - Spin is 100% bullshit - 12.5 kg 999.9 pure gold bars have always been 999.9 pure gold bars of 12,5 kg - previous gold repatriations always happened without the ‘ need for ‘current standards’ - MSM doesn’t ask questions and prints spin - Another PR disaster avoided for the US/FED - The rigging of the dollar system can go on - The can can be kicked a bit further down the road

So, if I got that right, here's the narrative: - A US F-15E fighter jet got shot down over Iran, despite Trump saying 2 days beforehand in his nationwide address that Iran has "no anti-aircraft equipment. Their radar is 100% annihilated." (apnews.com/article/donald…) - The plane's weapons systems officer - a "highly respected Colonel," according to Trump - ejected from the plane and got "seriously wounded" (still according to Trump: @realDonaldTrump/116351956955900185" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTru…) - He still managed to "hike up a 7,000-foot [2.1km] mountain ridgeline and hide in a crevice" in the Zagros Mountains, despite his wounds (time.com/article/2026/0…) - U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones started killing all "Iranian military-aged males believed to be a threat who got within three kilometers of [the American's location]" (x.com/ByChrisGordon/…) - To retrieve him the U.S. managed to seize an "abandoned airport," 200 miles deep inside Iran, near Isfahan (bbc.com/news/articles/…), which happens to be where Iran's largest atomic scientific center is located (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isfahan_N…) - They landed two MC-130 military transport planes in that airport (theaviationist.com/2026/04/05/u-s…) in an operation involving "hundreds of special forces troops and military personnel" (time.com/article/2026/0…) - Both MC-130 planes got "stuck in the sand" and the U.S. destroyed them themselves "to prevent them from falling into Iranian hands" (theaviationist.com/2026/04/05/u-s…) - They deployed "three new aircraft to extract all the U.S. personnel" on the ground (theaviationist.com/2026/04/05/u-s…) - There are videos circulating online of "heavy clashes" with presumably Iranian missiles raining down in Kohgiluyeh County, in the Zagros Mountains during that night (x.com/Afshin_Ismaeli…) - Iran sent pictures of the aftermath at the "abandoned airport" and it's a sight of utter destruction, with US plane and MH-6 helicopter parts scattered all over the ground, still smoking (turkiyetoday.com/region/wreckag…). Iran claims they are the ones who in fact destroyed all the aircraft. - Meanwhile a second U.S. plane, an A-10 Warthog, also crashed on Friday near the Strait of Hormuz according to two U.S. officials speaking to the NYT (#47863db0-d61e-51bf-b7e1-6c4a9dc988e7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">nytimes.com/live/2026/04/0…). In that instance too the lone pilot was apparently "safely rescued." - In all this, after the multiple planes and helicopters destroyed or shot down, the documented heavy clashes, the "hundreds of special forces troops and military personnel" operating deep inside Iran, not a single US soldier was reported killed "or even wounded" (according to Trump: @realDonaldTrump/116350133044957842" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTru…). - And the 'highly respected Colonel' this was all for? No name. No photo. No interview. Nobody has spoken to him nor knows who he is. So to sum up: anti-aircraft equipment that supposedly didn't exist shot down an F-15 (and, apparently, an A-10 Warthog the same day). A seriously wounded man climbed a 2.1km mountain. The US seized an airfield 200 miles inside a country it's at war with, next to one of its most strategic nuclear sites, and deployed hundreds of troops all apparently unimpeded. Lost two planes to "sand" and destroyed their own helicopters. Videos show heavy clashes, missiles raining down - but not a single person got "even wounded". And the man at the center of it all? Nobody knows who he is, completely anonymous, zero pictures, but Trump says he is "SAFE and SOUND." And so is the rescued A-10 Warthog pilot, who also remains anonymous. Trump concludes this all proves the US has "achieved overwhelming Air Dominance and Superiority over the Iranian skies" (@realDonaldTrump/116350133044957842" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTru…), despite the whole episode only happening because Iran shot his planes out of the sky. Basically, the only thing that's "overwhelming" here is the audacity of the storytelling...

🤔 Relevant Data Points and My Thoughts Data Points: 🔹 The alleged "F-15E" crash site has been geolocated to a site not far from Isfahan and the Natanz nuclear site. 🔹 The HC-130J can carry TWO MH-6 "Little Bird" helicopters + ~10 troops. 🔹 The HC-130J can carry ONE MH-6 and ~60 troops. 🔹 Absent any MH-6 helicopters, the HC-130J can carry ~90 troops or ~64 paratroopers (as in soldiers fully loaded to jump out of them). 🔹 HC-130Js have no purpose in the context of a CSAR mission to rescue a single pilot. My Thoughts: 🔹 A pilot rescue is clearly not the whole story. 🔹 The proximity of the action to Isfahan and Natanz lends credence to the theory that the REAL object of this mission was to seize nuclear materials (as absurd as that mission would have been!). 🔹 It is probable that MORE than TWO HC-130Js were involved. 🔹 The bare-dirt agricultural airstrip was undoubtedly known and mapped as an emergency ditching site, but was NOT envisioned as an operational drop zone. 🔹 The foolhardy mission flew into an Iranian ambush, and TWO of the HC-130Js were hit, and forced to use the agricultural airstrip as an emergency ditching site, where they crash-landed hard with their full loads, and were disabled. 🔹 The Iranians attempted to rush troops and firepower to the remote site in order to encircle the stranded aircraft and troops (according to the IRGC spokesman). 🔹 The US managed to rush 3 Airbus C-295s to the site to evacuate the stranded aircrew and troops. 🔹 As the IRGC spokesman himself claimed in his report from earlier today, the US used jet aircraft to bomb to smithereens the stranded HC-130Js and the off-loaded MH-6 helicopters. 🔹 After absorbing the shocking results of the failed mission, the US triumphantly claimed the pilot was rescued, the operation was a brilliant success, and the US has the greatest military in human history. Anyway, these are my thoughts for now. I reserve the right to amend them as more information becomes available.

You’re looking at a real dish. Thomas Keller, chef at one of the few restaurants on earth with 3 Michelin stars, made it after Pixar asked him one question: what would you cook if the world’s most famous food critic walked into your kitchen? His answer is called confit byaldi. It’s a fancier, layered version of the peasant stew ratatouille, and the Pixar team actually learned to cook it. The film’s producer interned at Keller’s restaurant, The French Laundry in Napa Valley, during production. They kept live rats in a hallway at Pixar for over a year so animators could study how their fur and tails moved. This movie almost never got made. Jan Pinkava, the original director, worked on it for 6 years before Pixar’s leadership lost faith in the story. With about 18 months to go before the premiere, Steve Jobs personally called Brad Bird (the guy who directed The Incredibles) while Bird was on vacation. They asked him to take over. Bird rewrote the script from scratch and redesigned the rats to walk on four legs instead of two, so they’d look like actual rats. The $150M film grossed $624M and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, with 5 total nominations that broke the record for an animated film at the time. Peter O’Toole voiced Anton Ego. Lawrence of Arabia himself. O’Toole had been nominated for an Oscar 8 times across 45 years and never won. Pixar gave the role of a man who judges others for a living to an actor the Academy had been judging for almost half a century. And the character was drawn to look like a vulture. The flashback is weirdly accurate, scientifically. Smell is the only sense that skips the brain’s normal processing line and goes straight to the parts that handle emotion and memory. Every other sense (sight, hearing, touch) has to make a stop first. That’s why a single bite of food can slam you back to your childhood kitchen faster than any photograph ever could. Scientists have a name for it: the Proust Effect, after a French novelist who described this exact experience in 1913. Smell-triggered memories go further back in time and hit harder emotionally than anything your eyes or ears can pull up. In 2016, the BBC asked hundreds of international critics to vote on the greatest films of the 21st century. A cartoon about a rat cooking dinner made the top 100. This scene is a big part of why.

A devastating assessment from the first few days of the war.
Ignis Rex@Ignis_Rex

💥 “We’ve lost this war. The United States is taking the biggest defeat in its history. It will never be able to return to Asia again.” Alon Mizrahi, an Israeli journalist and one of the world’s most respected Jewish writers, says the following: “We are witnessing history. Iran is destroying American bases in such a comprehensive, large-scale, and determined manner that it’s catching everyone off guard—the world isn’t ready for this. Iran has managed to expand its military dominance in the region in just four days. It has obliterated the world’s most valuable and expensive military bases, properties, and equipment. The American bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are among the largest military facilities on the planet. These facilities took decades to build and cost trillions of dollars. We’re talking about a massive portion of military spending over the past thirty-plus years going down the drain. We’re seeing radars worth hundreds of millions of dollars wiped out in an instant. We’re seeing all military bases abandoned, burned, looted, and destroyed. And I can tell you this: As far as I know, the U.S. has never experienced destruction like this in its history—except for Pearl Harbor, but that was just a single attack. In a conventional war, no enemy has ever done anything on the scale of what Iran is currently doing to American military forces. It’s hard to believe. The military situation is so dire that censorship is blocking almost all new information about this war. If you’ve noticed, we’re getting less and less information with each passing day. Thirty-five years ago, during the First Gulf War, we were watching countless images from Iraq. Smart bombs and cameras were new back then, but footage was broadcast every night. Now, we’re seeing almost no videos at all. Understand this: Even on the fourth day of the war, we’re not seeing any signs of air superiority from the United States—the country supposedly with the world’s largest military and air force—against Iran. Where are the images of American planes flying over Tehran or any region of Iran? American soldiers can’t even dream of setting foot on Iranian soil. To grasp how hopeless this war is, just listen to the absurd suggestions and ideas coming from the Trump administration on the fourth day. They’re proposing military escorts for oil tankers leaving the Persian Gulf. What does that mean? Sending American ships into a region within range of thousands of Iranian missiles? No one can pass through the Strait of Hormuz right now. The Iranians have been preparing for this for decades. They’re floating the idea of arming Kurdish militias to invade Iran. Have you ever seen a map of Iran? Apparently, the Trump administration hasn’t. Do you know how big Iran is? What does it mean to invade Iran? Do you think a militia force of 10,000 could invade Iran? What about 50,000? Or 100,000? Iran would swallow them whole. The U.S. and Israel have already lost this war. Yes, they could kill millions of civilians in their homes; they have powerful bombs and can destroy buildings. But they won’t win this war. Iran’s military infrastructure and weapons are scattered across the country, deep underground. Neither the Americans nor, especially, the Israelis have any chance of reaching them. They’re in a very bad spot. They have no chance of finishing what they started. When all this is over, the U.S. will never be able to return to West Asia. There will be no American presence in the Middle East. I’m saying this definitively right now.”
