Please stop blaming Quebec for the erasure of Canada's traditional cultural signifiers. The real blame lies with the Liberal Party, which gladly used Quebec as a scapegoat.

Ce qui est drôle, c’est que pendant des siècles, les Canadiens français ont assez souvent partagé ce point de vue. Ils croyaient être le dernier bastion de la « vraie France » (la France royale et catholique), ayant été coupés du pays d’origine lors de la Révolution française.
Cette idée a perduré, mais s’est transformée en « nous parlons la véritable forme de la langue française », un argument qu’on entend aujourd’hui chez les nationalistes québécois.
