like when i used to get no reach i would often wonder how scary it would be to have reach bc i'd have transphobes on me 24/7 but i... don't? it's rare

@spinelessaisha I may have said something similar yesterday but seriously: 25 years, multiple OS and multiple versions of each. nothing ever works right you'll always have to troubleshoot something. in fact the only time i ever had it just work was an iMac running MacOS 9 and that was in 1999.

also switching drivers did Not fix my issues with the gpu falling off the train or whatever. seriousuly is there a distro that would acutally just have things working i'm SO tired of troubleshooting. people tell you some shit like "just get xyz" and then the toehr half si like -

last i treid linux mints outdated drivers made programming a pain

@spinelessaisha imo theres no reason to worry because microslop will continue to do microslop things, people still won't switch to linux because it's linux and it'll stay the same side from maybe macos eating into pc shares very slightly

i'm unsure how to feel about it all because on one hand i'm glad the pressure did in fact cause microsoft to cave in but it's annoying because people will now go back to trusting windows and they'll get complacent overtime again

would it be possible to make your own handheld using a raspberry pi if you dont' have 3d printing as an option? or would it be better to just get a cheap phone and find a backbone controller? i really wnat a handheld gaming device so bad... but damn it's expensive

@spinelessaisha the device tree and stuff, basically some files that describe the hardware of your device so that the kernel/OS can handle the hardware

linux is free and people should be allowed to do whatever the want, but when hands working on the projects are already low, i feel like making more and more solutions just causes issues because less people work on the same software . but that's just an ideal scenario i guess

what actually frustrates me is that this just goes back to fragmentatino right... nixos is clearly not a good desktop os for average people, but so many nerds are using it and nothing that benefits nix will benefit other distros, so it's a buncha people working on something-

yeah okay i don't think nix will fix my issues, maybe make them slightly easier but not enough to be worth the effort of learning it i thiiiiink something like bazzite would be the best bet for me but at this point i'd be better off just sticking to cachy and using flatpaks more

@spinelessaisha did you clear caches and orphaned dependencies? It probably won't fix any issues you're having but I'll think about it for the rest of the week

OKAY i think i fixed almost all of my issues so far?
- switched back to kde and uninstalled cinammon
- redid the fstab entry for the NTFS drive
- uninstalled cloudflare WARP since it was spamming my journalctl
- turned off bluetooth ebcause... i dont have bt and it was spamming-
