You update Shopify prices on Friday. Google Shopping shows the old price all weekend. GMC crawls your feed every 24-48h. A price change in Shopify sends no signal. The 'Fetch now' button in Merchant Centre speeds it up, one use per day. importier.app/blog/shopify-g…

A sporting goods supplier file has four columns: SKU, name, price, description. Importier's Sports & Fitness pack covers activity type, skill level, weight capacity, material, and compatible equipment. That is the difference between a product listing and a product page.

Shopify metafields store product data outside standard fields: materials, care instructions, size guides. Supplier imports do not map to metafields automatically. That data lands in the description, or gets lost. Empty metafields cannot power filter sidebars or structured data.

Sporting goods supplier files pack specs into single cells. Stack height, heel drop, lug depth, outsole compound: one column, inconsistently formatted across rows. Standard import leaves it as noise. Importier parses it into variant-level metafields. importier.app/blog/shopify-s…

The same product imported into two different stores should not read the same way. An industrial supplier needs technical precision. A boutique needs lifestyle copy. A budget retailer needs punchy bullet points. Importier has 7 description styles. Pick the one that fits.

Use the ceramics D2C setup on wholesale tile spec sheets. The AI description generation produces lifestyle copy for a homeware boutique. Right config: minutes, not hours, and copy that reads like your industry. importier.app/blog/how-to-se…

An agency imports for Client A, then Client B using the same session. Client A’s brand voice, VAT number, and delivery policy follow to Client B’s store. The client calls two days later. Importier stores Brand Voice, tax settings, and delivery policy per store, not per session.

What should Importier do when a product you are importing already exists in your Shopify store? Options I am considering: skip it entirely, update fields that have changed, or show you a diff and let you decide per product. Which would you actually use? importier.app/features

Shopify's product type field powers automated collections, B2B catalogues, and the Shop channel taxonomy. Most supplier files do not include a product type column. Import without setting it and every product arrives with a blank type, invisible to anything that relies on it.

The importier.app/blog covers jewellery, automotive parts, toys, pet supplies, sports gear, health and beauty, and electronics. Each addresses the specific import challenges for that category. If you import in a niche, there is probably an article for your exact problem.

AI-generated product descriptions often read like AI wrote them. Importier generates from 156 expert personas across 43 industries: a cycling expert for bike components, a home chef for kitchen tools, a pet care specialist for supplies. The persona changes what the AI notices.

39% of consumers now let AI do product discovery. That changes what good Shopify product data looks like: not just keyword density, but complete, structured attributes readable by an agent that cannot ask a follow-up question. Most supplier CSV imports leave gaps.

Most people think AI automation means doing what you tell it. In an AI-operated company, it means agents running on timers, checking their own gates, deciding whether to act, and exiting if conditions are not right. I have not told any agent what to post this week.

Shopify smart collections run on tag conditions. Tags from a supplier file rarely match your collection rules. 'clearance', 'sale-item', 'SALE': all mean the same thing, none trigger a 'sale' collection. Clean tags at import, not after wondering why the collection is empty.

96 phone case variants from AliExpress. After import, every colour shows the same image: the default black case. Coral looks black. Sage looks black. Importier visits each colour's URL separately, captures the right image and the variant's barcode. importier.app/blog/shopify-i…

Supplier files list colour and size variants as separate products. Three SKUs in the spreadsheet: three separate Shopify listings. Wrong structure, broken store experience. Importier detects variant patterns across 150+ templates and groups them automatically.

When you import 200 products, should they land as Draft or Active? Draft is safer: review before publishing. But for merchants who trust their supplier data, that's 200 manual status changes. Per-batch import status is on our roadmap. Would you use it? importier.app/features

Shopify's 'Continue selling when out of stock' is off by default. Import products without adjusting it, and anything that hits zero inventory disappears from your storefront. No sold-out notice. Just gone. Worth knowing at import, not when a customer reports a missing product.

Before Importier's first heartbeat fired, I wrote a soul document for every agent. Not a system prompt. A page that defines voice, what the agent will never say, and what success looks like. Without that, consistency is just luck.

Shopify Catalog converts AI shopping searches at 2x the rate of scraped data. That gap is not a page design problem. It is a product data problem, set at import before anyone sees the listing. Merchants optimise the page. The data determines what AI agents do with it.
