Iran has delivered its latest proposal to Pakistan and is ready for in-person talks in Islamabad as early as next week — a meaningful step forward. Pakistan is sincerely playing a constructive role as a neutral bridge between Iran and the US. The next few days will be decisive: whether the US accepts the invitation for direct talks in Islamabad will show how serious both sides truly are. Overcoming deep distrust is the real challenge. History shows that external spoilers — particularly Israel, which benefits from continued conflict in the region — can derail progress. Strong verification mechanisms and broader regional guarantees are therefore essential. A significant confidence-building step amid US-Iran tensions. US CENTCOM has transferred the seized Iranian vessel M/V Touska along with 22 crew members to Pakistan for repatriation to Iran.
