@jtimsuggs The budget should have been waaay lower, it wasn’t just a flop, it was a $200m+ flop. Compare it to Andor with a similar (cost/budget per episode) and it’s a night & day difference.

Still can’t believe that they pandered to the worst, loudest people online and scrapped the rest of what was planned The Acolyte. Deeply upsetting that this series never had a chance to continue and grow beyond a first season. Super frustrating.

@SirSnipeyy @lite_thespark Jedi Survivor was a good game and i liked how the fighting and especially ”boss” mechanics worked, still the launch was just terrible on PC as you said and most people will only play through these games once, me included. It completely ruins the experience.

@lite_thespark It’s just often that larger companies are held to a higher standard when it comes to the technical state of release- Respawn and EA famously was under tons of fire for the buggy state of Jedi Survivor on PC even though the game itself was amazing.

@WalrusM19151740 @SirSnipeyy I think the main problem with the take is comparing a season that was building up towards something and never finished to a complete movie trilogy.

@Imsdalo @SirSnipeyy Prequels absolutely does not. But it does succeed in having hype moments and aura.

The only thing separating The Prequels from The Acolyte is nostalgia. That’s the only thing that keeps you from hating on one and not the other. Because they both suffer from a lot of the same flaws.

Happy andor is finally taking sw to more mature tones- makes better stories

@Imsdalo @brookstweetz The details of it weren’t explicit. The show made it into something that mirrored whats actually happening in real life such as the lack of truthful media coverage and the spinning the situation to make the oppressing side look victimised and more innocent.

Finished the Ventress Episodes. Honestly, this was the biggest nothingburger ever.

@tsa_daisy @brookstweetz You could see it that way but what would be a better word for what happened in Ghorman? Genocide is literally what happened, nothing less. The Ghorman massacre was already a thing in Star Wars before Andor. Its not something they came up with just recently because of Gaza.

@Imsdalo @brookstweetz Disney are infamous for firing actors for speaking out on political issues and just preventing any type of over-realistic commentaries on real world issues in their media. The word genocide is a huge reference to the genocide happening today in Gaza

@Gyria_Tu @Jan_Damask @PhilRages You're right i had the wrong idea of retcon, my point is that including it in a show makes it more safe from becoming a plot hole and forgotten about, this way the story aligns with all canon media.

@Imsdalo @Jan_Damask @PhilRages Disney would not retcon any story because Disney does not control canon for Star Wars. That is done by Lucasfilm and the Lucasfilm Story Group.

@Gyria_Tu @Jan_Damask @PhilRages Not really retconned, they announced that the story will align with dark disciple back when the bad batch arc happened, they clearly want it to be canon but they just changed it. The Phantom Menace isnt retconned because maul survived.
