In alignment with the implementation of the 4x4 Strategy of @RwandaHealth , @KibogoraLTTH had the honor of receiving a delegation from the @Uni_Rwanda, led by Prof. @Fostino21, for discussions focused on establishing a partnership in surgical residency training programs.

InciSioN Rwanda joins the #GlobalSurgery community in deep sorrow following the passing of Dr. Dominique Vervoort @DVervoort94, co-founder of @InciSioNGlobal. His vision for equitable surgical care transformed a generation. We mourn with the world. Rest in peace, Dom. 🕯️

Dom lived a life of service, tirelessly advocating for equitable access to cardiac and surgical care worldwide. Our community members describe him as brilliant, kind, and a deeply principled human. He left us too soon, but his legacy lives on.❤️

We are heartbroken to share that Dr. Dominique Vervoort has passed away after a long battle with melanoma. He was 31. Co-founder of #InciSioN, architect of early global surgery advocacy, and host of IGSS2018. Dominique helped build the movement many now stand on.

My friend Dom, a bright star who inspired countless people in global surgery, created the field of global cardiac surgery & led the charge on advocacy as we know it on Twitter, is gone way too soon. My prayers are with his family & loved ones. He will forever be an inspiration

✨ A childhood dream come true ; it has been God since day one. 6 years down, chasing one goal: ✅ All exams passed ✅ Thesis successfully defended Happy to share that I have now successfully fulfilled all academic requirements for graduation from #MedicalSchool 🎓🇷🇼. Our undergraduate thesis, “Assessing Disparities in Geographic Accessibility and Surgical Capacity for Bellwether Procedures in Rwanda: A Quantitative and Geospatial Analysis,” examined how Rwanda can strengthen access to essential surgical care. This would not have been possible without the mentorship and supervision of Prof @Fostino21, the support of @GSU_Rwanda, and the best teamwork of @Guillaume1511, @AmenBella & @MugaboMB. 🙏 Excited to carry this work forward and contribute to Rwanda’s #NSOAP and the #GlobalSurgery 2030 goals 🌍.
