@Kris_Akenfelds @PatsPat @newscomauHQ Can you state the law that prohibits disabled adults from consuming alcohol? There isn’t one. But there is a Act passed by the Parliament of Australia which prohibits discrimination against disabled people in a range of areas including the provision of goods and services.
English

@PatsPat @newscomauHQ It's very easy to make that remark when it's not your bank account that's going to be emptied after a law suit due to an accident on your premises. Can you honestly tell me you'd have taken that risk? It's always different when it's your own finances on the line.

Hi friends of @EduTweetOz, you may have noticed the account has been quiet for months. Unfortunately our admin team could no longer continue and we could find no volunteers to take over. Have you missed the account? Would you like to take over? Has the account run its course?

@annabelcrabb I know someone who wrote a whole list about this, but specifically in this scenario I feel women are often told they are being too “emotional” like our emotions are not rational!

@fi_murphy_ @WritesFiona @samvanzweden @kyliemaslen @LuciaOC_ @text_publishing I’m sure I will. I loved Hearing Maud, and your book sounds similar. I’m HOH so your explanation of your disability resonated with me.
English

@fi_murphy_ @WritesFiona @samvanzweden @kyliemaslen @LuciaOC_ @text_publishing I listened to the livestream about your book last night and I can't wait to read it! It sounds absolutely brilliant!

‘The body keeps the score, yes, but the score is often known in advance. Control is its objective. In public, we seek to maintain an otherwise enviable illusion: the idea that we, in common with Beyonce, maybe just woke up like this.’ smh.com.au/culture/books/…

@BaronvonKlar @theTiser Annie asked her brother not to make contact with her. He respected her decision. This was the right thing to do. I suggest laying blame where it belongs- with the owners of Integrity Care and Rosa Maione who were paid to care for Annie yet dismally failed to do so.
English

I guess if the uncle and the brother had checked in on her at anytime this might have been avoided. Just saying.

@KaySocLearn I’d love to join in! I’ve never heard of Discord but am willing to give it a try. Also I’m in Australia so time difference can be tricky.

@KaySocLearn This looks interesting! Is this online? Where do I find out more.

@poulton25 @Zofcha Lived experience is incredibly important! I hope you get to share your message to a wider audience..

@Zofcha Can I write about having a disability and being a teaching assistant and the powerful impact that has on my learners around breaking down barriers around disability as well for the learners as they have additional needs themselves shows they can raise their own aspirations

@_d_rose_xo It's a good video detailing the problem, you should follow it up with one providing people with a solution i.e. alt news sources per geographic region.

@robertqberry I've written about disability microaggressions (the literature was largely focussed on racial microaggressions) in K-12 and drew on these resources:
