At the opening of the Transforming #EducationSummit +4 at @UNESCO, I reaffirmed our conviction: education is the most powerful investment we can make in peace, dignity and the future.
As South Africa assumes the co-chairmanship of the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee, TES+4 brings renewed momentum to the global education agenda.
The issues before us matter: 1 in 6 children are still deprived of education, aid to education could fall by up to 30% by 2027, and 113 countries spend more on debt servicing than on education.
We must protect education financing, support teachers, listen to young people, and ensure every learner is prepared for the future.
