#ThisDayThatYear | 10 Jul 1984 The first three An-32 aircraft were officially received by the #IndianAirForce at AFS Palam, marking the beginning of a new era in tactical airlift capability. The An-32 was inducted as the IAF's Medium Tactical Transport Aircraft and brought with it exceptional hot-and-high performance capabilities with the ability to operate from unpaved airstrips. The 11th Indian Air Force and Royal Air Force of Oman Air Staff Talks were held at Muscat, Oman from 01 to 02 July 26. The talks were co-chaired by Air Vice Marshal SK Taliyan of Indian Air Force and Air Cmde Khalid Mohammed Abdullah Al Abri of Royal Air Force of Oman. The 7th Edition of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament 2026 concluded on 03 Jul 26. Air Marshal S Shrinivas, AOC-in-C, Training Command, graced the Closing Ceremony as the Chief Guest, while legendary hockey player Padma Bhushan, Padmashree PR Sreejesh was the Guest of Honour. In a gripping final, the IAF team defeated the team of the Indian Navy to win the coveted trophy. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh took over as #CISC, HQ IDS on 01 Jul 2026. On taking over, the Air Marshal paid homage to the martyrs at the National War Memorial. Commissioned in June 1987, he has over 4500 hours of flying. He has commanded a Fighter Squadron, Radar Station, a major Fighter Base and was AOC J&K. He has held important staff appointments of ACAS Ops (Offensive), ACAS Ops (Strategy), SASO, EAC, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command. IAF organised Industry Outreach Event (IOE-26) at AFS Vadodara on 30 Jun 26, in conjunction with #VibrantGujarat. Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor superannuated as Vice Chief of the Air Staff on 30 Jun 26, after four decades of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force. Commissioned on 06 Dec 1986 as a fighter pilot, he is a Qualified Flying Instructor and a Fighter Combat Leader. During his career he has held several crucial appointments, including that of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command and TrainingCommand. An alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College, Air Marshal Kapoor was conferred with the SYSM, PVSM, AVSM and VM.
