Ambassador-designate Ms. Nagma M. Mallick met with Mr. Yutaka Kaneko, Mayor of Sano City, and with business leaders from Sano and the Tochigi Prefecture on the sidelines of the SBI Cup and India Fest in Sano. They discussed opportunities to further enhance India–Japan collaboration in trade, investment and tourism, and to build on Sano’s special connect with India through cricket and cultural exchanges. Ambassador Mallick also enjoyed a graceful Koto performance and had the opportunity to experience playing the Koto herself. The day beautifully blended the energy of Indian dance performances with exciting cricket matches, and showcased the bonding between India and Japan over sports and culture. 🇮🇳🤝🇯🇵

Ambassador-designate Ms. Nagma M. Mallick inaugurated the 13th State Bank of India Cup-Inter Corporate Cricket Tournament 🏏 at the Sano International Cricket Ground today. Hon’ble Mayor of Sano City, Mr. Yutaka Kaneko, Mr. Senthil Kumar, CEO, SBI Tokyo, Mr. Naoki Miyaji, CEO, JCA Japan, Prof. D. Sakthi Kumar, President, TCC, and other dignitaries joined in celebrating the growing popularity of cricket and the deepening India-Japan partnership 🤝. Ambassador Mallick greeted and extended her best wishes to all 40 participating teams for a spirited tournament that strengthens friendship, teamwork and people-to-people ties between our two countries 🇮🇳🤝🇯🇵.

Embassy of India along with Tottori prefectural government organised a business seminar in the city of Yonago highlighting India’s Business potential and scope for skill mobility to Japan . The Participants from the local business association and banks participated in this event

They had fruitful discussions on ongoing collaboration between India and Japan related to people to people exchanges. Embassy of India in Tokyo hosted a roadshow on “Celebrating India–Japan Next Generation Partnership: Realizing the ¥10 trillion Partnership for the next decade.” Sh. R. Madhu Sudan, Deputy Chief of Mission, @lndianEmbTokyo delivered the opening remarks highlighting the opportunities for economic cooperation between India and Japan. The event brought together leaders from @ficci_india, JETRO, industry and policy experts to discuss talent development, innovation and expanding business cooperation between 🇮🇳 and 🇯🇵.

Ambassador-designate Nagma M Mallick delivered a special address at the 49th Joint Meeting of the IJBCC & JIBCC in Tokyo. H.E. Mr. Keiichi Ono, Ambassador of Japan to India, Mr. Takehiko Matsuo, Vice-Minister @METI_JPN, Mr. Tatsuo Yasunaga, Chairman, JIBCC & Chair of the Board of Directors, Mitsui & Co. Ltd. and Mr. Rohit Relan, Co-Chairman, IJBCC @ficci_india also addressed the gathering. Discussions were held on deeper industry collaboration to achieve the business targets set by the leadership of India and Japan.

Ambassador Nagma M Mallick met with Mr. Satoru Katsuno, Chairman, Central Japan Economic Federation ( CHUKEIREN )at Nagoya. They held productive discussions on promotion of trade and investments and industry collaboration between Chubu Region of 🇯🇵 and 🇮🇳.

Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. R Madhu Sudan, addressed the participants at the kick-off symposium on the “Future with India” Program at the Ochanomizu University. The program brings together leading universities from India and Japan to promote student and researcher mobility in frontier STEM areas. Researchers and students from IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Hyderabad, University of Delhi, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Miranda House participated in the symposium and discussed partnership with the counterpart Japanese Universities participating in the symposium. 🇮🇳🤝🇯🇵

Ambassador-designate Nagma M Mallick met with H.E. Mr. Hideaki Ohmura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture at Nagoya. They held productive discussions on taking forward Prefecture-State cooperation, B2B exchanges, investments, mobility and people-to-people exchanges. Ambassador extended her best wishes for upcoming Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya.

🇮🇳 🇯🇵 Next Generation Economic Partnership : Fostering SME Collaboration between India and Chubu Region of Japan 🇮🇳 🇯🇵 Joint Vision for the Next Decade adopted during the visit of Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi to Japan in Aug 2025, encourages SME cooperation by fostering visits of Japanese SMEs to India. At an event organized by @indianembtokyo with @METI_JPN, @JETRO_info, JBIC, Central Japan Economic Federation (CHUKEIREN) & Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( NCCI) brought together 150 Japanese SMEs from nine prefectures of Chubu region. Industry representatives from diverse sectors including automobiles, machine tools, aerospace, precision manufacturing, pharmaceutical, semiconductor sectors participated in the event to explore opportunities in India. Ambassador Nagma M. Mallick, Secretary @DPIITGoI Mr. Amardeep Singh Bhatia, @METI Chubu DG Mr Hidenobu Teramura, DDG JBIC Mr Toshihiko Kurihara, ADG Chubu Hokuriku @JETRO_info Mr Sotaro Nishikawa & Director METI Chubu Mr Masaaki Morishita spoke on the potential for expansion of Chubu region SMEs to India. They welcomed SME Mission from Chubu region 🇯🇵 to 🇮🇳. Mr. Koichi Suzuki, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Mr. Takuya Nishimura, Toho Koki Seisakusho Co., Mr. Kazuhiro Yazaki, Yazaki Kogyo Co., shared their experience of successfully doing business in India.
