That’s why we’re thrilled that advocates across Indiana pushed hard this session to pass #SB78—a major step toward making our schools phone‑free from the first bell to the last. Big progress for students, educators, and learning environments statewide.

#ICYMI: USA TODAY broke down how all 50 states stack up on phone‑free policies in K–12 schools—and the results were eye‑opening. Despite strong evidence that bell‑to‑bell phone‑free learning helps students most, only two states earned top marks. bit.ly/49US2Bb

State law requires the IPS board to appoint a new member who resides within district boundaries to complete the remainder of her term, which runs through 2028. Board policy gives members 30 days to make that appointment.
