Recent analysis indicates a sharp drop in traceable vessel movements, with dark transits and AIS manipulation on the rise, complicating #MDA. Recent debris impact incidents further highlights an emerging risk. The minimal damage observed suggests the debris material was unlikely from a direct strike and more plausibly originated from an intercepted aerial threat, with debris from neutralised projectiles subsequently falling onto the vessel. This underscores a widening hazard envelope, where maritime traffic faces risk not only from direct targeting but also from fallout in active air defence zones. Concurrently, GPS interference and spoofing incidents reported across key nodes such as Fujairah approaches are further degrading navigational reliability and situational awareness. The cumulative effect continues to suppress confidence, elevate war risk premiums, and strain global energy and supply chains. Shipping companies and masters are advised to exercise heightened caution, maintain AIS discipline, and adhere to BMP (MS) and IFC-IOR advisories. Six incidents involving MKD VYOM, ATHE NOVA, LIBRA TRADER, GOLD OAK, PELAGIA and GAS AL AHMADIAH have been monitored East of the #StraitofHormuz, particularly in the approaches to the Gulf of Oman. The analysis of reported incidents indicate suppressed transit activity, persistent AIS manipulation, widespread GPS Jamming/ Interference, sustained pressure on energy and commodity supply chains, with war risk premiums remaining elevated. The 7th Aerospace & Defence MRO South Asia Summit 2026 was conducted at India International Convention and Expo Centre, Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi on 11–12 Mar 2026. The event featured distinguished guests from the Indian Armed Forces and representatives from Defence PSUs and private industry partners. The ‘Defence MRO Expo’ had a dedicated #IndianNavy exhibition stall represented by In-house Indigenisation Committees of Naval Aircraft Yards and Air Stations, highlighting indigenisation efforts and challenges of Naval Aviation platforms. The stall received an overwhelming response from visiting dignitaries and industry partners. Highlighting India’s growth trajectory, he noted that the nation is entering a “take-off phase” toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy within this decade, encouraging graduates to explore emerging and niche technologies while aligning their aspirations with the country’s progress.
