@HBCUHW @LangstonLionMBB @CoachCWRIGHT “The refs let us get away with fouling, so we kept doing it because Ave wasn’t adjusting” that’s not a flex lol.
You’re exactly right, you won and had a good season. I never said other wise.
English

@Indians0150 @LangstonLionMBB @CoachCWRIGHT Lemme put this another way:
Teams AND players worth their salt actually ADJUST to the way the game is being called defensively. Maybe your three year old could impart that lesson as well.
BTW, coming onto my feed after the fact isn't gonna get Ave Maria the win. 🤷🏿♂️
English

A few days ago, I said that @LangstonLionMBB's defensive philosophy and execution is arguably the BEST in all of HBCU Basketball at ANY level. I stand by that statement. @CoachCWRIGHT and staff have REALLY made it an art form. #HBCUHoopsWeekly #NAIAFinals

@HBCUHW @LangstonLionMBB @CoachCWRIGHT My three year old could lock someone down if he could legit grab your entire arm and pass block dudes and never get called for it. Fouling isn’t defense.
English

@Indians0150 @LangstonLionMBB @CoachCWRIGHT Or maybe, and here's a novel idea, NOT rely on iso basketball with a team that lives off of its man-to-man defense and has players that can lock you down. Ball movement does wonders, too.
I get it. That's your guy. You're good at picture collages, though. 😒🤷🏿♂️

Jeff Teague talking about if Larry Bird played in today’s NBA:
“Watching Jokic highlights and y’all thinking how good Jokic is? How good you think Larry Bird would be right now? Because when I watch older people play, they be like he ain’t athletic he ain’t this. But then when I watch Jokic it’s just like he is walking around, he just make it look so simple. Like if Larry Bird played right now, like Luka and Jokic just be walking around. Larry Bird would average 30,10,8.”

Nevada’s state high school basketball tournament deserves a showcase setting

@Indians0150 Loved covering prep state tournaments at old LV convention center and Centennial Coliseum in Reno back in mid to late 1970s. Games went continuously from 9 am to 9 pm, one after another.
English

What a shame those arenas can’t open up their venues for two days for high schools athletes. Damn shame.

The NIAA is playing its state basketball tournaments in high school gyms rather than arenas, where the cost can run as much as $100,000. reviewjournal.com/nevada-preps/c…

Elko might put on the best show when it comes to sports. Cheer, dance, and band are always top notch.

@RGJpreps @ElkoDaily Maybe not competitive BB, but @Raks57 and I paid $26 to watch 4 3A games to soak up small town vibes at the Wooster HS gym. Most impressive was (always) the Elko band, cheerleaders, and dance line. Maybe not the huge production of years past, but still very good.
