Long Maintenance Announcement (1-2 months) - @IndieBoosting Last weekend, I onboarded two massive indie boosters (one with 5 million monthly visits, the other with 2 million monthly visits) In theory, this is super great news for me and my users… but no, things didn’t go smoothly 😞 The system completely crashed and was unstable for hours due to a sudden spike in traffic (nearly ~1 million requests/day). I was pretty confident about this because I had put a lot of effort into optimizing the system recently. I couldn’t even believe that, with the help of AI, a one-person team could build such a complex system. I was wrong! 🥲 But this is the product I’m most proud of. It distributes other people’s products, helping them gain attention and recognition, which is truly meaningful. I also hoped it would gain enough traction to make it easier to bring indie products to the market. I still believe it has a lot of potential to grow. The distribution channel will be a strong fortress in a world where “anyone can create software.” Actually, I already have a solution, but it requires refactoring everything. I estimate it would take at least a month to complete, while my time and resources are currently very limited, and I need to focus on other more important tasks. So, I’ve decided to put IndieBoosting into maintenance mode to carry out this “overhaul” and come back stronger in the future. The exact timeline isn’t set, but it could be 1-2 months.
